This is a huge milestone that some of us are just about to pass! I wanted to start this post as a celebration of the 2nd Tri. More energy, less ms and less worries,(in theory) it sounds like a wonderful place to be. :

Let us know as you pass this milestone.

Because it varies according to what source you use! But, roughly, 40 weeks / 3 trimesters = 13 weeks 2 days. Some books will say 13 weeks, some 14, some even 12 for unknown reasons.

On Thanksgiving I will be either 13 weeks 1 day or 13w3d (there's been some confusion ) so I am counting that as my threshold day. Guess I'll check back here then if I still can!

Ah. I wondered how to figure that out. Makes sense though. When I figured up where I'd be at 13wks 2 days, it's exactly three months after my last period. Duh.

December 3rd can't come quick enough!

I'm counting it as 12 weeks, as I've seen that around too. Babycenter Canada, for one, has 12 weeks as the 2nd trimester, as does visible embryo. Also, that's when the placenta takes over, and since that's a milestone in and of itself, I count that one.

I need surgery in the 2nd trimester for my gall bladder. My RE said anytime on or after Dec 20th for me, which would be 12 weeks, 3 days.

It's still SO far away :

I posted this thinking 12 weeks because I've seen that used so often. But I agree that 13w and a few days is more accurate.

In the past, I have considered 12 weeks, but based on when my first trimester symptoms went away, it was always between week 13 and 14. So I guess I will use that as the threshold (which will be Dec. 2nd). I am so looking forward to the next trimester. This has been the hardest pregnancy for me yet and I just want to put it behind me!

I'm 13 weeks today but I'm not counting 2nd-trimester until Wednesday. (Yes, I'm weird, I know.) But still-- 13 weeks! ME! This is my 5th pregnancy and that has never happened before.

I'm 12 weeks today and this is 2nd trimester for us, yahoo!!
Dh told his parents yesterday and they are very pleased, especially because we are so far along already and they don't have to worry quite so much
We also told the kiddos yesterday and they are very happy, also. I wasn't sure what to expect from them and was so happy they were happy

Attached, homeschooling mom to Sam (10), Henry (8), Clara (5--now in public school Kindergarten) and Noah (2)

I still had some pretty horrible morning sickness last week (week 12). So, I am going with week 13 for the 2nd trimester. :

I can feel a marked difference here in week 13, though, I still feel a little yucky in the late afternoon, and I am still getting that constant saliva that makes me spit (and get a little nauseous). I need a nap at around 2-3 PM, everyday.

I don't feel like I am showing. Maybe I would be, if I wasn't 20 lbs over weight? I haven't gained any weight with this pregnancy either. I know I gained more with my first two. This makes me feel not pregnant. I keep trying to feel for my uterus and I can't really find it.

I did see the baby and a heart beat on an u/s at week 11, so it should still be in there!!

My parents, grandmother, kids, and a couple of my friends have know that I'm pregnant since early October. We haven't told dh's family, though. But dh told his boss, after we saw the ultrasound. Then, unexpectantly, his boss put it in his weekly news letter, that week. So, everyone at dh's work knows, and I sort of wish they didn't.

I'm 12w5d today but this is the first chance I've had to get here and post. We had yet another cold brought home from preschool last week. I caught it Friday and have been right out for the whole weekend. Buh.

I plan to stop the Diclectin on Friday night to see if my m/s has gone away yet. I'm not willing to have m/s during the work week as I have too much work to do and can't afford the queasies.

We didn't have a November prenatal appt due to conflicts in schedules between us and my GP. So, on Dec 8 we'll be getting a check and hope to hear the heartbeat for the first time. No movement yet but I'm paying attention to my belly and looking forward to that first flutter.

I tend to show more towards the end of the day than at the beginning. A day's worth of food in my gut leaves me looking mighty pregnant by 6pm. I've definitely got a little bump, though. Even first thing in the morning. I've been in maternity pants and tops for about 4 weeks now.

Officially started week 13 yesterday.

I have less dry heaving, more stable hormones (most of the time) and more energy. I'm starting to enjoy being pregnant a whole lot more. And I've started looking at more maternity clothes.

Thanksgiving was a wonderful time to share with my family. They already knew, of course, but it was nice to be together with our little turkey in the oven. :-)

Married to my best friend, expecting #1 6/09. Little angel came early- 4/10/09, 2lbs 5oz. Lilah Grace:

I'm sorry that your husband's boss spilled the beans before you were ready to. At least he is excited for you and your family. But I know how you feel... you want to be the one shouting it from the rooftoops! But, at least he is happy for you guys.

And congratulations!

12 weeks & 3 days! I was so thrilled to hear the heartbeat again! Originally I had low progesterone and the doc did an early sonogram at 4 weeks! and said I would lose it, but 2 weeks and 2 sonograms later he said I was all good. So Im hanging in there, just went off Prometrium, Im nervous about that, but the doc said I should be good.:
