I swear, I promise to be a good woman if I can make it through the rest of the weekend without killing someone. HA.

In laws are in town and MIL is driving me insane. She keeps talking about the baby coming NOW, and how "oh, it will be fine, I delievered at 34 weeks". NO, you can't be sure it will be fine.

She then irritated me with saying my OB must be incompetent because he wont estimate a size of the baby. Well, I am 34 weeks, his size doesn't matter, I am not having a vaginal birth and my OB doesn't care what size the baby is, he wants him to stay in as long as humanly possible. My ob isn't incompetent, he is just realistic and making any guesses even now is foolish. (not to mention, all of my bio kids have been within 10 oz of each other, I highly doubt that this one will be hugely different). And even if he is huge, who cares.

I have gotten the eye rolls at the questions as to what bottles I am going to use. When I say none, she tells me I am crazy and I wont last. I have to remind her that I breast fed both of my kids with no problems and I plan on skipping right to a cup with this one. uggg.

Then she comments about me co-sleeping and that I should take advantage of the nursery we have. Well, I don't want to.

I am just irritable and I DO want this pg to be over and done with, but I don't want a preemie stuck in the hospital, or one that can go home, but has major problems nursing etc. He can stay in a few weeks longer and I will be happy.

Oh, and she does not believe me that kids born at 34 weeks can have Cerebal Palsey. Ummm YES, they can.

MIL's can be the worst. What is wrong with people that they seem to keep harassing pregnant women? I'll send you some peaceful vibes: : Good luck getting through the rest of the weekend.

Lordy lordy. I'd just have to say, "My parenting choices are not up for discussion. If you continue to comment on baby-related items, I will ignore you and immediately change the subject each time you continue to not honor my request while in my home."

Then, because you know she'll keep it up, choose something crazy like bean dip. Then have all your comments revolve around bean dip.

When she says, What bottle will you use? You say, The one that stores bean dip the best.

When she says your OB is incompetent, you say, I sure am grateful for the abundance of beans on earth to make bean dip.

When she says that it is impossible for kids born at 34 weeks to have CP, you say, Children of all ages enjoy bean dip.

That way, you don't have to waste energy dealing with her, and she will continue to think you're nuts anyway (or whatever she thinks), so everyone wins!

Wishing you much strength!

You are hilarious pearl2!

Besides that though, so sorry you have to deal with this. My mil is dropping by sometime this week, but won't let us know when. And she is no fun to have as company right now either...so I completely understand your frustration. I say hide yourself away for an afternoon in your room and relax. I do this when my mil is in town...I have to, or I go crazy.

Reminds me of what I always hear from my mother, things like "I'm so mad at your OB for letting you tear! They should have cut you instead!" I'm constantly hearing how bad my docs have been for not performing episiotomies. It drives me up the wall.

and the ever-popular, "when does the doctor say the baby is coming?" which made it all the more hilarious to tell her that the doc asked me, "so when are you going to have this baby?" (my fifth), only half in jest, LOL

which is why she isn't coming until long after the baby is born, even though my babysitter's going out of town right when I'd expect to deliver and I could use the help.

PLEASE do this! I will name my next child after you if you do. OK, maybe my next cat But still, I would SO LOVE to hear the response to this approach!

I would love to do the bean dip thing, sadly, I don't think she would get it. I sometimes wonder about her. Like maybe she is just not understanding a lot of things.

DH owes me BIG TIME. He left for the whole day (got called into work) and while we totally need the money, he still left me with the in laws.
