My baby girl was born on June 8th at 12:05am. We went to the hospital at 7:30pm so labor went really fast. Molly Ann was 10lbs, 5oz and 22" long. She surprised me by how big she was! We are both doing really great and are happy to be home finally!

Congrats Melly! Such a lovely name for your sweet (and big!) little girl. I take it that I should expect to go to Madigan while I'm in transition or later so that I avoid interventions and just pop the baby out ?

Anyhow, great job, and if there is anything I can do to help you, please PM me!

I was really surprised by Madigan. I don't know if it's the norm, but while I was there, they wanted to do everything they could to avoid interventions for me. I ended up laboring in the tub and not using any drugs at all (even though I asked!). It was a good birth experience, but I never want to have another baby in a hospital. I couldn't get any rest!

I had this same experience at Madigan. Despite being induced so DH could be there everyone was SO supportive of not using pain medications and yeah... they were just awesome. I'm so glad you had a good experience too!!! Congrats on your baby girl

So happy to hear things at Madigan went well for you. It sounds like you got to work with the midwife team- the ones I met seemed great, and the one that helped deliver a friend's baby was awesome ( suggesting position changes, which worked, instead of using other interventions to help with a stuck baby).
My non-military midwife is actually pretty impressed with Madigan...apparently they ave higher VBAc rate than ther hospitals in the area...so yay Army

Yes, I'm so glad I didn't experience any of the bad I heard about Madigan. I'm pretty happy with m y birth experience this time.
