What is left on your lists of stuff to do before baby comes? What have you done so far?

So far I have our birth center bag packed and in the car. I have enough clothes and diapers to last a little while (I didn't want too much newborn stuff). I've got the camera batteries charged and cameras ready to go on the way out the door.. and that is pretty much it.

I need to:
Set up the Amby bed
make freezer meals
buy easy to eat snacks
finish washing the carseat cover and getting it put back together
carseat in the car
get a present for DS1

and have the baby!

Not much here, mostly waiting. I realized I do want to dig out my boppy pillow and wash that. Not sure where it is!

But it's mostly just maintenance at this point- keeping the house stocked with food for the sitter and my son when we are at the birth center, keeping it clean, etc. I want to wash some dog beds, but that's been on my list forever and has not gotten done so we'll see

Buy a battery for our baby scale.
Could use some more cloth wipes so I'll probably sew some more up.
Keep the house neat <-- (although I keep telling my husband that once I let up on the housework, she'll probably come )

We're trying to keep ourselves really busy, and it's not that hard with 3 kids and a mini-farm! Yesterday we decided that we should plan a big party for the Summer Solstice (to be canceled in the unlikely event that baby arrives before then), and that's working out to be a pretty decent distraction. We're going to have everyone bring their own dishes/utensils so that our clean-up job is minimal.

If I get a chance, I'd love to sew curtains for our many curtain-less rooms since otherwise we'll probably just hang sheets over the windows during the birth. And I still have to finish the baby's quilt (I have the top done, but that's it), and a knit soaker that I'm half-way through. There is always more to do, as far as I'm concerned, even though I would feel ready if baby decided to arrive today.

For those who feel like EVERYTHING is ready, why not add more to your list? Make more freezer meals, bake cookies for your midwives, work on birth announcements, read another parenting book, paint a picture for your baby. Distraction is a Very Pregnant Mama's best friend.

Lex

Mindfully mothering SIX kids (ages 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 & 11) in a small house with a lot of love.

I am working on the baby quilt, which I probably won't finish before baby comes, but want to get a big dent in it.

I am also still working, so trying to get a bunch done at work.

but baby-prep wise, I guess we could add more - technically we could make some meals and freeze them, etc. The one thing I haven't done is strip the used cloth dipes we got, though I think we might use disposables for the first week anyway depending on baby-size. But it might be good to get done anyway, we'll probably do it this weekend.

We are moving on Monday, so I am focused on that project at the moment. I'm sure the baby will decide to be born Sunday or Monday just to prove a point!

But I still need to:

1) wash the car seat cover (the cat has been using it in the meantime) and install it in the car.
2) I'd also like to get the inside of the car detailed. It is so filthy in there I shudder to think of putting a newborn baby in there!

Repaint one of our chalkboard walls.
Organize my yarn stash.
Keep knitting on a few projects.
Continue work on a photo album project for my MIL.
We would love finish watching this TV series we started...the 4400.

Everything is set for the baby. I bought a few Father's Day gift this week so that is set and my husbands birthday is July 7th so I've bought a few of those gifts too just in case I don't get out to get them after the baby is born.

I do need to get some snacks for the labor/after.
We need to buy DS a present too! Oops!

Other than that, hang out and enjoy this time! I don't think we'll be waiting much more than a week at this point but if we do...we do...42 weeks is June 23rd.

I have so much left to do... haven't actually made a physical list yet, but my horoscope this morning said that I should. So here goes:

- Paint the dining room
- Put the cabinet doors and pulls on the new cabinets
- Pull up the living room carpet and put down the wood floor
- Clean out the little girls' room
- Get neighbor to do a couple dump runs for me
- Wash new baby's new clothes
- Find CDs and wash them
- Clean my bedroom
- Find homes for the 8 new kittens
...

Ugh. It's too much. I think I'm gonna go take a nap.

Make some freezer meals
Make up the bed
Install car seat
Plant bedding plants
Have baby

I'll have 2,3 and maybe 4 done today. The freezer meals are probably a weekend project. And baby will come when he/she is ready I guess.

Clean my house, pack up some paperwork. We'll be moving a month or so after the babe is born, and I haven't done a thing yet.

Make the bed.

What's this about a midwife gift? What kind of stuff do you get a midwife? It never occurred to me to get my mw a gift, am I terrible?

Wrap the little toys/gifts I got for my DS1 &2

Buy baby book/keepsake box

Frame some maternity pics to look at during labor

Most of this stuff is easy, I'm just lazy

Off to run errands this morning - MUST buy dog food or she will starve until I can leave the house again.

Let's see...

* Go grocery shopping {doing that tonight; been putting it off and the cabinets are seriously getting bare }
* Clean bedrooms... again.
* Make snacks for keeping in fridge/freezer.
* Make weighted vest for my son, with bean bag weights.
* Shop for sibling gifts {think we have it narrowed down to a Cabbage Patch Kid for each of the two youngest, a MP3 player for the oldest and a low priced kid friendly camera for the other}.
* Shop for games for the kids to play while I'm in labor to keep them busy.
* Kid#2's birthday party {tomorrow}.
* 3 dentist appts., 1 eye appt., another MW appt., an acupuncture appt., 2+ OT appts.
* Buy a henna kit and let the kids paint my belly.
* Finish MW gifts.

I know there is more, but most of it is just stuff that I want to get done, not stuff that desperately needs to get done. Need to get on most of that this weekend! My due date is next week, but baby is NOT allowed to come before then. I have too much to do this week to fit in a baby

Have the kid.

I was going to do meals, but honestly, my mom and sister will be here, they can cook, AND clean after.

Carseat needs to wait to be put in until the baby is here, I don't want to listen to the two 9 year olds any more then I have to, whining about "he looked at me" They will be too close to each other once the carseat is in, so that has to wait.

my house is a mess, but I can't clean, hurts too much so why stress over it.

Basically, my biggest thing is NOT hurt my MIL or any other person who keeps asking me ridiculous questions.

And again, get this kid OUT.
