My Dh and I are going to take my 1st belly pic tonight (5 wks today). Keep in mind, I'm not showing AT ALL AND I'm starting this pregnancy 20 lbs overweight....but I really want to document our "baby bean" growing.

Just was wondering if anyone would like to partake in a belly pics thread, to watch each others bellies grow!?!

Well..here it is, my 1st belly pic....very bloated, but oh well.

5 Weeks Today:

I'm going to start at 5 weeks, and I'm not afraid to post! I am about 20 pounds heavier than when dd2 was conceived, but still in the normal BMI range for my height. I love to see the subtle growth when you look at all the photos side by side towards the end. I really regretted not having loads of pregnancy pics either time, so I will be camera-happy this time!

5 weeks for me is Friday, so you can expect my photo then!

Peaceful mama to three blissfully-birthed and incredible small people: dd10, dd7 and ds5. Always awed and so thankful to be a midwife.

Count me in! I'm not too proud of how flabby my belly is right now but I'll share pics. I'll start on Thursday...6 weeks. I'm amazed at how bloated I am so get ready for some big belly pics! lol

Okay, here I am at 6 weeks (how the heck am I so big already?!). Please excuse the glowing boob and the spotty mirror--I promise to clean it before I take my next pic! lol

I went ahead an updated my first post w/ my pic from tonight.

I think it will make our thread more organized if once you post a picture, you continue to add new pics to that same post. That way you can see the progression all in one post.

What do you all think?

I agree. I think that updating a single post to add more pics makes for a less jumbled thread. At least that's what it seems like from peeking in at the beautiful belly pictures in other DDC's.

Hey it only took me half of my pregnancy to start taking pictures:

17 Weeks

23.5 Weeks

I had been feeling sort of fat and non-pregnant looking, but I think I am kind of glad that it took me a while to start showing, because I am still so comfortable. I am sure I will get huge soon :-)

Hello ladies,

I think it's very important to keep a photo journal to document how your baby is growing. I am now seven weeks pregnant with my first child, and I took this picture last week:

http://www.new.facebook.com/home.php...&id=1474135283

If for any reason Facebook doesn't allow you to view the picture, just e-mail me at [email protected], and I will be happy to send you the picture.

I wish you all the best in your pregnancies.

God bless you,
Kristin

I have a question: Are y'all counting how many weeks you are from LMP or from conception??? I am 5 weeks LMP, but I find it hard to believe I will be showing in just 2 weeks!

LMP, since that is how EDDs are calculated usually. Or, even if you calculate based on date of conception, you'd still consider yourself a few more weeks more that how many weeks since conception. Gosh, that sounds confusing, doesn't it! It's always funny, imo, that by the time your period is late, you're already 4-5 weeks pregnant, because you count the time before conception occurs.

Ack, that is confusing. I've been going by conception date, and can't believe I'm only 3 weeks. Ah... what is LMP?

LMP is 'last menstrual period'. But, calculating your due date based on LMP assumes that you conceived on day 14 or so of your cycle of course, that isn't true for all of us! So, if you know your conception date, you can more accurately calculate the date. There are online calculators, and I also have a gestational wheel, so I could tell you what the due date is with that if you want, too.
As an example, if you conceived on November 1, your edd would be about July 25, and today you'd be 5 weeks and 3 days.

All that being said, ime, most OBs do not like to base the EDD on conception date. They like to base them on LMP and ultrasound dating. But, if you are seeing a midwife, she's more likely to use your conception date.
