SO DH and I are still at a standstill. I want the name Prudence, he likes Penelope. It's not that I don't like Penelope. . just that I had a friend in HS and college and thought she was a lovely person most of what I remember about her is her being sick with cancer.

I've tried to find other P names (we've decided, we want a P name) but haven't found anything.

Wondering if there were any suggestions.

Be, happy momma to Liberty (12-31-02), Henry (3-17-07) and Prudence (7-02-09)

We're going with Penelope (and calling her Poppy)!

I do love PP's suggestion of Persephone! I absolutely love that name but I'm big on nicknames and couldn't derive a good one from it. Good luck with the naming!

Yes, this little one already has the nn Poppy. . which is the strange reason why we want a P name (the nn is based on initials, our last name begins with P and her middle name will be either Olivia or Olive depending on what flows better with whatever first name we go with)

Gosh, I like all of these! Persephone is my favorite, I think. I actually like Prudence, but it is kind of old fashioned.

Yes, Prudence might seem old-fashioned to many. But if you look in my siggy you'll see that my dd's name is Liberty. To me they kind of go hand in hand (and after raising Liberty. . I'd like a child with maybe a bit of prudence. . We'd name her Patience but I can't stomach that thought of Patty as a nn ever. . .as well as thinking that I often have prudence but rarely am I patient about anything)

My baby is going to be Penelope as well. Popular name in the DDC. I really liked Piper and Phoebe, but DH did not so Penelope is the name we can both agree on. He turned down Persephone cold. I love the nn Percy.

I LOVE Prudence! But I love names that are a little 'old-fashioned'. I think they are making a comeback. smile. I don't think you'll have trouble keeping the nickname whatever you want, though. (I have a cousin named "Johnathan" and no one has EVER called him "John" because his mom hates it and make sure of it!) So either name should be fine.

Good Luck!

I like Patricia. Maybe even Petra? Paige? Pia? I also like Peyton but I think it's fairly popular these days.

I adore the name Paloma. I would have pushed for it, but it practically rhymes with DH's last name, so no go.

I like Petra, too.

I really wanted Phoebe if DS1 was a girl.

Here are a couple more:

PACÍFICA f Spanish
Spanish feminine form of the Late Latin name Pacificus meaning "peacemaker".

PAX
f Roman Mythology
Means "peace" in Latin. In Roman mythology she was the goddess of peace.
