So a recent thread brought this to my attention.

My midwife suggested that I should not use the more rigorous induction methods such as black/blue cohosh or castor oil because I am having a VBAC.
Her rationale is that it will over stimulate the uterus and that is not safe for me.

She is ok with sex, acupuncture, membrane sweeping, and physical activity.

What are your opinions? I mean, I would use these more natural methods before pitocin or a c-section....but not sure if she would be down with that.

Just looking for different viewpoints here.

My midwife told me the exact same thing. She doesn't even want me to use EPO until I am at least 40 weeks. I guess if the time should come that my due date has passed with no baby, I will re-visit the issue with her and do some research on my own. IMO, just about any natural form of induction is MUCH safer than pit or cyto. My HB MW has delivered babies at 44+ weeks so I am not worrying about going *too* overdue. But it would be nice to give things a little nudge... !!
