Hi. I am here as well. I am due the last week of August and hopefully things will stay that way... heh!

I am 32 and this will be my first. I am with my fantastic hubby and we are really excited about this.
I have five fur-kids and this will be my first skin-kid.
I also hope that I can withstand temptation and not find out the sex until birth.
I am really looking forward to being pregnant and hoping I will enjoy everything that goes with it (at least most everything)!

Michele married to Dh since Dec 2000 and happily sharing a home with 3 kitties, 1 doggy, DS R born 8/25/09 into the arms of his mama, and DS E born 2/25/2012

I finally made the journey over!

I am Krissy, and I am 28 pregnant with our first and maybe 2nd. I am due Aug 26, and my birthday is Aug 15th so I will either be 28 or 29 when the baby(ies) come. We had to turn to IVF due to tubal defect. This was our very first round of IVF. My betas started off iffy, but are going strong now. So far my only symptoms are my boobs. They hurt all the time. My hubby even swears they have grown. I am a 38F, so I hope they don't grow too much!! Hope everyone is having fun!!

K 30 married to J 40 Love being a SAHM to our IVF miracles: Jackson 08/09, Emily and Miles 09/11 Missing our lost babies 04/08, 08/10. Currently planted on a soft surface bfinfant.gifall day long.

Well, sign me up. I haven't been over here on MDC for awhile but feel like I might need some extra support this time around. I have discovered I am rather unexpectedly expecting my 3rd! I have a 5 yr old girl and a 2 yr old boy and have the exact due date I had with my son - Aug 6. I've been really blessed with easy pregnancies and labors - 2 home births for me and of course, will have a third. I'm still nursing md ds, which has been hard the last few weeks as my milk seemed to dry up overnight and he has been desperately trying to get me to make more, which is a little sad! Not much else to report other than this time will be different for me because I'm a midwife and was working with the last two, so was very involved with everything pregnancy and this time, I'm not working and am living in England! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

I'm new here. I guess this is where I come on MDC. I seem to avoid everywhere and just go to my ddc. Anyway, I'm Marly, this is my 4th. I'm due August 27th, I think. I kick myself for not charting and knowing exactly when I ovulated. We weren't going to try until next month. My 14 month old is still nursing but I'm hoping to night wean her. I just can't handle not getting any sleep.
So far I haven't gotten really sick. I'm hoping to make it through Christmas before getting sick.
Oh yea, I also am planning another homebirth. My first was born drug free in a hospital, second in a birth center, and third at home. I am hoping to use the same midwife but not sure if she is catching in August. She takes the summers off and I'm just hoping August doesn't count as the summer.

Hello all!
I am due in August as well. I am 8 wks. 2 d. and we just had a sonogram today and saw the little bean jumping around, and heard the heartbeat : I am elated, and so relieved that baby is doing well. He/she is measuring exactly to the day in size.

My first child was born in a hospital. Then I found Mothering & MDC (thank-God!) and my 2nd was born with midwives in a birth center totally au-natural. I am hoping for a home water birth this time around as long as their list isn't full for the month of August.

This may very well be our last child, so I am trying to enjoy every last ounce of this pregnancy! (even if I feel right now).

I look forward to hanging out with you gals in the months to come! Here's to Summer babies!!! :

Finally introducing myself!

On message boards, I just go by J. My husband is A. We are both 31 years old. DP turns 32 at the end of January, and I will be 32 in March. This will be our first child, with an EDD of August 30th. I got a BFP on a HPT on Friday, 13 DPO.

I apologize if my writing style is a little choppy and just-the-facts right now. I have so many mixed emotions with this pregnancy, and I'm trying to just hold myself in check so I don't fall apart. My mom died on December 1st after a long, drawn-out decline from early-onset Alzheimer's Disease. Crazily enough, DP and I conceived on the night of my mom's funeral. It was not really planned, although we knew it was a possibility as things were happening, if you know what I mean. Normally, we take all necessary steps to avoid pregnancy because we just haven't been ready for a child -- for various financial and professional reasons. We didn't plan on starting a family for at least a couple more years. But there were just so many emotions....grief and loss and love and longing....rational thinking about our long term plan kinda went out the window. Overall, we are thrilled and fairly confident we will be able to work everything out. And despite my atheism, I love to dabble with the thought that some little part of my mom is in my child or like my mom gave me one last gift before her soul/spirit/whatever-I-don't-really-believe-in moved on from this world. This pregnancy is very two-sided. When I wake up in the morning, it dawns on me once again that "OMG, I'm pregnant!!" : and at the same time it dawns on me once again that "OMG, my mom is dead!!" : Each day is a wonderful dream come true as well as a terrible nightmare. I'm a mess.

Okay, I made it through all of that without disintegrating. Sorry for the long intro. I'm glad to "meet" all of you, and I hope we all have a healthy & happy nine months!!

Hi! I'm 30 & have an 11 month old daughter who I'm still bf'ing...I'm due 2nd-3rd week of August. I use a 14 day window, because my "due date" was way off last time...she had a mind of her own. So, in the throes of the lovely 1st trimester Again...feels like I just did this. The 2nd time is so different.

I wish I knew our conception stories. We've conceived several babes and I only had one of their origins down pat. This current one was a complete surprise -- but I'm secretly thinking of it as our election night baby. I don't think the dates can possibly add up, but still, I like the idea.

anyway, welcome to all the new members of the ddc!

Thanks, stardust, for the condolences and the congrats. It's nuts that those two sentiments have to share the same sentence, isn't it? I'm still in shock, I think. Thanks again.

Hi everyone! Congratulations on your pregnancies. I'm looking forward to sharing experiences and learning together! :

I'm 31, and this is my first pregnancy. I tested on 16 dpo and despite having been trying for a couple of months, I was really shocked and discombobulated by the positive! My husband was instantly elated and goofy about the news. It's been a week now since I found out, and I'm still adjusting to the idea, but I'm happy that life is flowing the way we'd hoped it would.

We picked a homebirth midwife prior to the pregnancy (I felt the need to plan ahead!) and thinking of also using HypnoBabies to help support me through pregnancy and birth. We're a bilingual (Arabic and English) and bicultural vegan/vegetarian couple, planning to BF and cosleep, and considering a combination of EC and CDing.

Mama to a bilingual (Arabic/English) and cuddly 3 year old, and planning another peaceful homebirth in June.

Wow, congratulations to everyone!

I'm a little surprised still to find myself on MDC. We've been talking about a baby for a long time but didn't plan on TTC till next month. Ah well, a + on Christmas Eve and we're so excited!

I haven't been into the Dr. or mw yet, but I'm guessing I'll be due at the very end of August. This is our first, we're totally ready for a homebirth and we'll be moving to start grad school a just before I start my third trimester!

Blessings ladies on all your good news!

Sarah. Married to my Mirus, raising my DD1 (Aug. '09) and my DD2 (March '11) and waiting for my newest (April '14)!

Hi all...I'm due currently 7w 3d pregnant with my first baby. We were one of the lucky ones to have IVF work the first time around. I just had my first ultrasound yesterday and got to see our little one and its heartbeat. Amazing! Nice to meet you all. I think I'm due around Aug. 10th!

I'm here! :

Due late August. DH & I've been married 7.5 years, 2 DDs born 7/02 and 2/06. Rough plans to move across the country this spring - we'll see how it goes!

DD1 was induced 3.5 weeks early, hospital birth w/ meds.... DD2 waterbirth in the hospital w/ midwife. We're contemplating homebirth, and know we want another waterbirth no matter where we are.

Congratulations, all!

I'm a horrible lurker even though I'm hesitant to post yet.

I'm turning 36 in January : (and therefore "advanced" in my childbearing years), and DH is 34. We have 1 DD who will be 4 on the 30th. : She was unfortunately born via cesarean, a fact that has dramatically changed my life in many ways.

We started ttc July 2007, and I lost three babies in a row between then and March 2008. A HSG showed an uterine abnormality which the OB thought was a double uterus. Further investigation with a RE found an adenomyoma (endometrium growing into my muscle) that was likely caused by the cesarean and also crappy progesterone in my luteal phase.

I'm 5.5 or 6 weeks pregnant, possibly with twins:
last Friday's draw = 367 and 51 (which I didn't realize was high for 1st tri)
Wednesday's draw = over 6100 and 53 (which doesn't make sense!)
I've been supplementing progesterone (17-hydroxy progesterone shots) since last Friday per my doctor's orders. His nurse suggested that we take a look via u/s since my numbers are so high.

There's an outside chance that I'm carrying a molar pregnancy that will end in a loss. Luckily, the nurse said my numbers aren't so high as to really worry. Otherwise it might be twins or I just have crazy high hormone levels.

Strange that I don't feel worse than I do - mostly just exhausted 24-7, not sleeping well, and some boob tenderness, oh and a touch of reflux.

HH9 for everyone! :

I am here. I haven't posted in a very long time. Since sometime around my last daughter's birth when I was part of the January 2007 DDC.

I found out on Dec 1 that I am pregnant with #4. This will be our last baby so I am secretly hoping for twins. I have always wanted twins. I thought I would introduce myself so I could start posting.

I am currently almost 8 weeks and feeling majorly sick. I am hoping that it levels out soon so I can return to some kind of normalcy!

Hi Mamas! I'm Shannon, and I 'm pregnant with #4. Things may get a little complicated for me due to my last 2 births. My 2nd ds was born with an ABO blood incompatibility (my O blood had formed antibodies against the baby's As and after birth, my Os attacked his blood cells). He ended up being in the NICU for 7 days and needed an IV Immunoglobulin treatment and almost had to have a blood transfusion. I went to a specialist during #3 pregnancy and they prescribed a drug to take for ten days before birth - this would prevent a post-birth reaction IF the baby had the same blood type as the 2nd. But I never had a chance to take the drug, because #3 arrived at 34.5 weeks, as healthy as could be, and with my blood type! So, my *issues* are 1) taking the phenobarbitol for the ten days prior to delivery in case #4 has same blood type as #1 and #2, and 2) preventing preterm labour. Fun fun fun!

Shannon, mum to ds1 (8/03), ds2 (6/05), dd (5/07), and ds3 (7/09)

Hello All! I’m Melissa from Delaware, and it’s about time for me to introduce myself. I’m about 6 weeks 3 days pregnant; with an expected due date of August 21st.

This is my fourth pregnancy. My first two were heartbreaking: first – ended in miscarriage at 9+ weeks, second – I developed severe preeclampsia at 26 weeks and had to deliver by emergency c-section; the baby lived five short but heroic days. My third pregnancy was very high-risk, but relatively smooth sailing – resulting in my now 16 month-old son. I’m also mom to an 18 month-old daughter who we brought into our family through adoption.

SO – pregnancy for me is filled with hope and anticipation – but – also it’s very scary and stressful. We had a viability ultrasound yesterday afternoon, and my husband and I both felt a combination of nausea and faintness. We were a mess.

The result of the ultrasound seemed okay – the doctor said we’re earlier than originally calculated (we thought 7 weeks), but that for a 6.2 week pregnancy everything looked normal.

ANYWAYS! I’m excited to be here with you all. Hopefully I can stick around awhile.

Hello mamas!! My name's Kara. I'm 22 and I have one Ds who is 22 months! I found out I was pregnant almost 4 weeks ago but when we went in for an ultrasound to determine how far along (I never got back on track with my cycles after Ds was born so I only had a guess!) they said it was too early to determine (less than 4wks) .. That didn't make sense to me because I had gotten a positive pregnancy test 2 weeks before that appointment. Maybe my math was off? but it just didn't seem right. I've been hesitant to post but I figured I should introduce myself! Now I am just eagerly awaiting my next appointment to make sure everything is ok! : I should be due the first week in August!

They have been just blowing off my concern - I asked for a blood test and they said no. I asked for another ultrasound and they said I'd have to wait. They won't even see me for 2 more weeks! They won't even listen to me! Ugh! I think I will be calling a new place on Friday.

that doesn't sound right. I think if you have another care provider available to you, it might be wise to seek a second opinion. If they aren't listening to your concerns now, what is it going to be 8 months from now when you're in labor?

Hi everyone,

I'm a single mother by choice, pregnant with #1, due on 12 August 2009. I had my first appointment with my midwife yesterday and it was SO exciting. Every time she referred to "baby" I'd get this tingling feeling all over (which is a great alternative to the non-stop nausea I've been experiencing since 5 weeks).

Looking forward to a home birth, clothing diapering, co-sleeping future with my little one!
