Alright fess up! What are you craving? What food thought gets in your head and won't leave until you eat it?

I'm going to sound really effing strange, but because I've only been pregnant in the springs/summers I'm always craving salad. I know I know...not a real pregnancy thing, but OMG I love dark green leafys, watermelon, heirloom tomatoes, sprouts, green onions with TONS of extra virgin olive oil and salt and pepper.

When I want that , I MUST HAVE IT.

Yesterday, I was eating sliced green apples dipped in frosting from a can. So I think that makes me a normal pregnant woman. haha!

OP, you sound like me! I normally have to force myself to choke down my vegetables, but during this pregnancy, I have been loving all fruits and veggies, especially tomatoes! I have probably eaten my weight in tomatoes and would not be surprised if this kid came out red, LOL!

I had a wicked craving for chocolate cupcakes today. DH went to to the store and I had to settle for brownies instead.

Mine are crazy. I can see someone on tv eating something and just have to have it. Last night we watched Reaper and they were eating burgers and fries (which I normally DO NOT eat) and now that sounds soooooo good.

usually though I eat a huge salad at lunch with black beans and salsa. Yum! I've also been mixing together vanilla ice cream, semi-frozen strawberries/blueberries, and chocolate syrup for my dessert treat. sooo good! the soft frozen fruit bites force me to eat it slower.

Craving things I can't have like Hot Chai and Candy. I have a sugar allergy that gives me heart palpitations, so I can't just say yes to things that I crave...it sucks.

Oh I usually dont like to much sweets but I am finding myself with a candy bar almost every day I usually go for salty pickled things which I still very much love but I get terrible headachs after so I slowed down on those. My Mom is the type of person that could sit down and eat a whole bunch of something at one time while I thought she was crazy. But its kinda happening right now. I hope it all goes away afterwards. But ya Ds birthday was tuesday so I had this huge cake that noone else wanted to help finish it. I ended up throwing the rest away yesterday or else I would have eaten it.

Glad I'm not the only one. How many times a week are you partaking? My midwife said 3-4 servings a week is ok of white fish. Last night it was catfish, I did fry it in corn oil, it was YUM...

I feel so weird I really don't have any cravings. Though since I came back from England I have wanted Pasties and Scones. I so want to find some one to go have tea with me at the local tea house!!!

chicken...I could sit there and eat a whole chicken straight out of the oven. It has to be pastured free range chicken, though. The other chicken doesn't taste right.

broccoli and cauliflower

greens

I require 2 eggs a day, and if I don't get those at breakfast I start craving them. Like right now.

:

I'm relieved that I'm not craving trash. *Sometimes* I get hit with a craving for ice cream, but I try to buy the "healthiest" ice cream I can from the local HF store...locally made.

Oh, and juicy fruits, several times a day.

You ladies who crave fish baffle me. Ever since the nasty fish-oil prenatals that made me burp (and then barf) that fishy taste, no fish goes anywhere near my kitchen or mouth.

On the other hand:
salad: me too!
Fruits: me too!
veggies: me too!

I'll add slurpees to the list. I RARELY consume high fructose corn syrup, but the sugar free slurpees are incredible. I've literally had one every day for a solid week.

The rest of my consumption is protein and salt. Qdoba veggie nachos, gyros from the greek place down the street, ham and cheese croissants, extra salty chips, burgers slathered in soy sauce, life is so good.

It also seems like even when I'm not craving something, my hormones make the flavors so intense that I moan and carry on with how good it is even when it's no big deal. My DH says his favorite thing about pregnancy so far is watching me eat, especially when I'm indulging a craving. It's all just so good!

Oh, and cheese. String cheese, cottage cheese, huge chunks of cheese, cheese on chips, all of it. Incredible.

And now that I've read this thread, I will go raid the fridge!

I wish I remembered the name of my prenatals. It's prescription with DHA and tastes really good. No weird smells.

Costco actually makes a DHA that my midwife highly recommends and has no burpy-side effects. Almost a sweet taste. Unfortunately for my tummy, I only recently discovered this.

I totally should not be reading this thread. Just seeing something makes me want it, lol.
For me it's been
Iced Green Tea from Starbucks
Peanut Butter
At the beginning of my pregnancy it was spinach salads and raspberries. Anything sour and tart- lot's of limeade etc.

Tomatoes, cannot get enough of tomatoes, salads, grape juice (certain days).

I really love veggies though and tomatoes are big for me!!! I ate 3 yesterday (3 vien ones and 1 plum) between lunch and a snack.

I also crave tacos from time to time but they have to be really good ones.

Take care!
