Cedar was born August 30th at 10:30 pm, after just 3 1/2 hours of labor. She was born in our birth pool at home and the birth was everything we could have wanted and more.
Unfortunately after the birth she turned blue and had lots of trouble breathing. She was coughing up clear fluid at first, and later brown blood. We ended up being SO grateful that we decided not to have an unassisted birth b/c the midwife saved her life twice, both with oxygen and mouth-to-mouth. We rushed her to the hospital and haven't had any sleep since. She was born very small with many potential life-threatening problems and we're waiting to get the test results back.
Totally not what we wanted. We're all so afraid and we have been holding her as much as we can. We're prepared for the worst just in case. She's a strong baby though. We love her so much.
