I have to admit - I was a skeptic. Bought them on sale (one pair) and they have sat in the drawer until TODAY. She ran out of lightweight jammie pant type things to wear under her clothes and it is COLD outside! So I grabbed these on a whim and figured - they're better than nothing, but now I'm hooked. I'm quickly adding a few more pairs to her xmas list These things are awesome - like a onesie for her little legs!

I got hers at Target before the babies were born. For like 3 bucks. (regular 10 - but I remember some ladies getting deals on babysteals.com) Wishing I had bought more now!

Right now the Babylegs are far too long for even my long-legged guy. But the Hugalugs are a great length. The Hugalugs will probably not last past the first year length-wise, but the babylegs will last for the first couple years for all but the tallest.

I have quite a few pairs, but honestly I've been keeping him mostly in longies.

hmm...i have a pair i haven't tried on him yet...

i actually bought a few pairs of tights--yes tights--and put those on him. no one can tell, it just looks like socks under his pants, but they keep him warm. and socks were falling off all the time.

one of my friends does that with her boys, samantha....apparently they market such things for boys in winter in europe, but not here. (her mother told her to do it and they are from Montengro which is next to Serbia and Croatia)

I have the '1st Babylegs' so although they are big, they're not gigantic. They definitely won't make it past the first year, I think. But they're perfect for right now.

We luh-uv baby legs here, we get them on babysteals.com when they have them there. I also bought some at a local diaper store. She is getting 5 new pairs for xmas to add to her stash, I think *I* have an addiction to them! They are great under dresses for the girls, or just with a onesie for the boys (or girls) and when these kiddos start to crawl they will be great knee savers.

Here is Soleil in a couple different pairs of her babylegs

We LOVE them. If I had discovered them when our 3 yr old ds was a baby we would have put them on him for sure!!

Okay, I put the pair on him that I have. They aren't Baby Legs brand, they're Skid Pants or something like that. They're cute, and it's nice that his legs stay warm when I change his diaper. But they're way too long, and they're too loose to keep socks on (which is why they were recommended to me. I told a friend that I was putting him in tights because I couldn't keep socks on, she said to put the baby legs on to hold up the socks) I have to fold the extra up and it goes all the way to his knees! And he's no shrimp, he was 24 inches long already at 8 weeks. Maybe it's a brand problem? These had no size on them, do Baby Legs brand come in different sizes?

Susanna wears BabyLegs every day - usually a onesie and babylegs. I live in FL, though. If it's cold, I put pants over them. I got Susanna's on babysteals when they had them $3/each (I posted it on here when they were on sale). I used them for Gabe too - got his from various places online when I bought diapering supplies.

Baby Legs are all one size and they are long but it is okay. They don't have to be just the right length - they just bunch up at the bottom. Her thighs are getting chubby for them so I sort of fold them over but they still cover her whole leg. She is a big baby, 17 lb now, but I have been using them since about 6 weeks I think.

They are not awesome for holding on socks. I use Robeez for that. I have Robeez in all sizes - got all but 1 pair at consignments sales for $5-$15 each.

I don't know why they would be too long- you just put one cuff down at the ankle (or halfway over the sock, mine are tight enough to not slip off) and one cuff on the thigh, and they gather up in between. They are bunchy like 80s legwarmers, not smoothed out like tights.

There is one type of onebrand of baby socks that I found always stay on. I've used them through 3 kids. They're Carters bubble socks. Not just any Carters, they have to be this kind that fold down and have the contrasting 'bubble' elastic trim. Cormac can wear a pair for days and they'll never come off.

ITA with Kristi about socks - those ARE the only ones that stay on! THE.ONLY.ONES.

But we just use robeez too. (except we buy the Target ones - they're only like $13) We bought the 0/6m and she's finally big enough to wear them - they're going to last all winter, I think. I put them on her every morning and she wears them until she puts a sleeper on at night - otherwise she ends up with bear toes and when it's negative 25 windchill like it was this week, that's just NOT okay, yk?

Heck at bedtime she's got on a onesie, the legwarmer things or light pants, socks, a footed heavyweight sleeper and THEN she's swaddled and has another blanket over the bottom half of her bassinet. (making a little tent like, yk?) Her room is the coldest in the house, and 70 just doesn't feel like 70 in the winter, yk? I hate winter with newborns!

I cannot find shoes that fit this little chunky guys feet. The robeez I bought him are the perfect length, but I can't squeeze his fat little feet all the way in them, If I can get his feet into the shoe, the elastic is usually stretched to the max around his cankles and he has like 3 inches of extra leather hanging off his toes. I think I'm going to have to learn to make custom sized baby shoes.

You could cut out the elastic and put longer elastic in the ones you have. Just put a safety pin in the end and work it through the casing. I had to do that with some I had for ds1.

Mine has them too... long and skinny. The Hugalugs fit him, but the Babylegs are still really loose. The one time I put the babylegs on him they all slid down - the bands stayed at thigh and ankle (sort of), but the rest just slid down to dangle off the ends of his feet.

I just picked up a sewing pattern book for baby booties a couple weeks ago. They're actually really easy, and you could easily customize them to fit your little guy. They're from sewbaby.com, and they give the options of elastic ankle, ribbed ankle, tie on or snap on

I have to use toddler socks for my little guy. His feet are far too long for infant socks - they were too big the day he was born. But his feet are so thin that they're baggy. So I use the ones with ribbed tops, and pull them up to his knees - they stay on pretty nicely. I also have 2 pairs of booties with elastic at the ankles - one's made of stretchy knit and one of corduroy lined with flannel. That's how I keep his toes warm when he's not in a one-piece.

Hi, I just signed up for a babylegs co-op on inspiredbyfinn.com
they have different brands as well some WAHM. Look around on the site for information about chunky thighs and it will let you know what brands are better. Shipping goes right to you and you pay on the site. if you want to use my co-op/coupon code It is Stacy I live in Hawaii and love babylegs. I got some for my 11 week old and then my 4 yr old boy and 7yr old girl wanted some too. They are great for the arms too. I have already ordered the 15 pair required to make a co-op and recieved my free gift of 2 free pair so this is not really an advertisment. You can run you own if you want (15 pair) for addicts no problem lol
It is so easy to place the order. it is really just like using a coupon code in the check out. 40% off your order

Aloha

ok, gavin must be skinny then, because there was no way the cuff would stay at his ankle, he has verk skinny ankles/feet. So there was like 4 inches hanging off at the ends of his feet! they also didn't stay up on his thighs, i kept having to pull them up over and over.

he's not really that skinny. his weight is good. he doesn't have a ton of fat rolls (really he doesn't have any rolls, he does have thigh creases, but not rolls) because he's so long. but still the legs didn't fit him.

hmm...maybe i'll try again in a month or so.

I've baby legs twice now from babysteals.com They usually have them on sale once a month so just keep checking each day if you want more. The first time I paid $4/pair and the second time I paid $5/pair!

How do you wash your baby legs? It says to hand wash and hang dry but does anyone actually do that? I've been putting them in the washer and dryer and so far they seem okay...

Hahaha... I totally clicked that link to check them out, then I thought they looked familiar... I looked down and Rowan was wearing a pair!
They ARE totally great. The ones we have are DS's, and he was like 18 months old and I was still trying to jam them on his feet because they were the best ones for staying put

I get my babylegs either through Inspired by Finn or Cloth Diaper Warehouse. They both always have a ton and they a lot cheaper than other places. Kai has super chunky thighs though so he gets red marks from them.
