So this is my third pregnancy AND I'm a doula, but I've never run into this problem before. I'm hoping one of you has AND has an awesome solution!

Sex is usually amazing for DH and me. With his new crazy schedule, we aren't as consistent as we used to be, but I'm not sure this is a factor. The last few months, I've been burning LIKE CRAZY when I pee AFTER we make love. Today (I'm 32 weeks), it actually made me cry out while I sat on the toilet (it hurt SO bad), and DH came running into the bathroom thinking I was having the baby. (LONG story, but our 2nd was an unplanned UC in the bathroom, so he's a little sensitive).

I brought this up during my last appointment, and the midwife said "oh yeah, I remember that, it's totally normal". OK, but what do you DO about it?? I can't imagine going 8 weeks without sex, but it was painful enough today to make me consider it.

Help!!

28-year-old SAH/Homeschooling Mamma to DS5, DD3, DS16mo. Helpmeet to DH since 2003. TTC #4!

I know what you're talking about and yes, it's quite painful...the only time I've ever experienced anything like that, it was because of inadequate lubrication...the friction of intercourse rubs you raw. You'd probably find that touching your "lips" stings as well, but probably not as severely as the urine. Then again, I'm not a doctor, but that's what it sounds like is the problem to me...if peeing is unbearable afterwards, you can try pouring water over yourself as you go to wash the urine away before it has a chance to get to the affected area...

Another two things to consider are increased blood flow to the area and/or a yeast infection. After sex, I get so swollen from being aroused that it's uncomfortable. And a yeast infection always makes the area pretty tender.

In the meantime, could you try alternate positions, or non penatrative sex?

I had the same issue it was BV( bacterial vagenosis) saw an ob got meds and it is so much better now. I tried the natural stuff first but my case was too advanced. Exact same symptoms. Good luck.

I've also heard that this is a big sign of Bacterial Vaginosis. I've never had BV, but with all of my pregnancies, I've had that burning when you pee after sex feeling! It was worse when I had a yeast infection though at the same time.

Usually when we DTD, we do it more than once. Well, this time around I've finally learned that it's doing it again a second time after I've already O'd that ends up giving me that stinging feeling when I pee. I've told DH we're takin' it easy until after the baby comes because I absolutely HATE that feeling and haven't found a better solution for it!
