She was fine for the first two hours, even tried latching on a bit, then starting having retractions and turned blue at about noon. They called a mobile NICU unit to come from the city an hour away and they transported her, along with dh, to the NICU here in Portland. I was able to be released only 3 hours after birth and my SIL drove me here to be with her. Because I'm discharged I have to stay at a friends, but I can be with her all day.
She didn't respond well to the CPAP, so had been intubated since late Saturday night. Her respirations are really high still, but they were able to lower her O2 levels to about 35-40 (we breathe 21%) She is up and down, but seems to be getting better slowly, although I don't know if they will take out the ventilator today or not.
So, keep her in your prayers and thoughts, it's been a really rough weekend.
*Fire...can't get on RM from the hosp. comp, will update you guys more later.

~We may not have it all together ♥ but together we have it all~
You and the baby are in my thoughts -- i'm sure that she'll soon be breathing great on her own.
(I love Norah by the way -- if this little boy was a girl, her name would have been Elinor, and we would call her Nora. I'm saving that name in case the next babe is a girl!)
Kate had transient tachyepenia(sp) (rapid breathing) after she was born (which you know was very fast like Norah) and it was resolved by day 3, so hopefully her breathing will calm down a little as she gets used to the transition!
Congratulations and keep us updated when you can. We are all thinking of you.
