I change my mind near daily now. Everyone has been calling my LO Kate, and Katie Jo, and I've just sprung on them that I think her name might be Keira. Or Kelsey. Or back to Ryan.

On top of that, my middle name pick of "Jo," to honor my mom (middle name Jo) and my dad (first name Joe) is now up for (completely self-imposed inner) debate, but I feel like taking it back now would hurt my mom a lot. (Although I guess she'd get over it.)

So here's my latest "short" list. Rofl.

First names:
Kelsey (brave)
Felicity (happy)
Ryan (king)
Mackenzie (fair; beautiful)
Keira (dark haired)
Katherine (pure)

Middle names:
Jo (God increases)
Grace (blessing)
Nan/Nancy (favor; grace) (mom's name)

I think I'm going to wait until she comes out. If she has a full head of dark hair, what's up Keira! If she doesn't cry, the happy baby is Felicity. If things get scary and I count her as particularly brave that day, she'll be a Kelsey. If she's as white as me (and BD), Mackenzie it is. If I'm feeling overly guilty about her lack of a present father, I'll name her Katherine so she knows that I'm the impure one, not her. And if none of those fit, my little king Ryan she'll be.

And then I'll slog through the middle names.

I'm seriously shocked I ever get anything done in this life. My inner battles are alarmingly intense. :

Thanks for listening.

I like your strategy, although I personally don't care for Ryan on a girl. I love Keira and Katherine. They were both on our girl list.

Great strategy And all of your names are lovely, really. I especially like Felicity Grace and Katherine Jo.

I love your strategy and logic! And by the way, I love the name Ryan for a girl.

I think we are dangerously close to going with "Baby No Name" here...you've got things WAY more thought out than we do ...of course it would help if dh would actually discuss the name issue. Although, he has mentioned he would like to use Bennett for the middle name (which was his father's middle name who passes away 2.5 years ago), so I guess we are getting somewhere.

We have a baby no name also...

I really like all your choices. I for one am a big fan of family inspired middle names and it is fun to talk to DS (4) about why we picked it and he thinks it is really neat (Armstrong, DH's mom's maiden name). I can't wait to talk to DD (1) about hers when she is a bit older. (Adams, my mom's maiden name).

This little girl will have Lynn, my middle name or perhaps Renae (my sister's mn) But for sure something from family.

First names....yikes, who knows! I like Alexis but Dh really doesn't. We also both kinda like Carly. Who knows! It would be so much easier if one of us really really loved some name.

I do really like your idea about how to name the baby though. She what she looks like when you meet her! Great idea!

LOL! Well, mine may be baby of Many Names - not sure which is better!

DH likes Amelie
I like Margaux
We may compromise on Amelie-Margaux
Ds wants Lucie and I've told him that even if that's not her name, it can be his special big brother name for his sister. He was fine with that.

So this poor child may get really confused by all the names she's called! Hehe!

pshh, i think there's nothing wrong with waiting to meet your babe before naming her! we have some "probables", but I never for-sure decide on a name before i even meet the kid!

FWIW I like Ryan for a girl, but maybe a more femme-y spelling? Ryann? Ryane?

I love your idea of waiting to see which one fits!
I have zero ideas on names. I can't believe it but nothing at all inspires me or feels right. Nothing.

I really like Katherine Jo too! Our baby's name is pretty much set within a week or two of finding out the sex. I wish I had more time to waffle in name choice, but DH is very particular about names and always has a very short list.

dd was 3days old before she was named. I got so sick of the nurses coming in to ask if we'd picked anything yet that I told DH to just pick something already.

you have plenty of time.

We're a family that doesn't name our babies until we meet them. DH and I went to the hospital with a "short" list of 18 girls' names and 60-odd boys' names (we didn't finish the discussion about the boys). Fortunately DD was a girl!

Amy loving DH 5/04, raising DD 2/05 and DS 11/09; missing my mom& my babies 6/07, 12/07; and on the side

Tell everyone you're naming her Beatrice Jane and stick to that story until you give birth. I learned the hard way not to tell ppl the baby's name ahead of time
