I'm less than 48 hrs postpartum and DH declared that he "had" to go to work today so that he could wrap up some loose ends and take "most" of next week off. Babe was up nursing most of the night. I'm home alone right now with three kids under the age of three. I had a decent labial tear and getting up and down is *very* uncomfortable not mention I'm afraid to stress the stitches. My MIL said she would come this morning to "help" but it's 1030 and there's no sign of her. My body is full of hormone soup and I'm not sure if I want to cry, sleep, or bang my head against the wall...none of which are really an option.

/vent

On the bright side, I have a lovely little blond girl in my arms.

Can a friend come over? A neighbor? Anything to lighten your load. You need to be in bed at this point, it's way too early for you to be expected to take on that much!!

I'm sorry you're stuck by yourself. Honestly, what gets into peple sometimes? You "rested" two days, now he thinks you're ready to jump right back into things? I wish I were closer, I'd drag my pregnant self over and help!

Those first days postpartum can be a very emotional time. I hope someone is with you now & that you will be feeling better soon. Can you talk to him about it when he comes home, to clear the air?

Mama to dd born 7/2005, dd born 12/2007 and dd born 11/2009.

We're all entitled to self-pity, and in your position, who among us wouldn't feel a bit upset trying to keep up with two toddlers while recovering from childbirth?

DH also had to go back to work 48 hrs later, thankfully my mom was there to help though. Or else I think I would have had a very big breakdown.
I hope your MIL is there now.
I'm thinking of you.
