Do you have a name that you love, but your DP doesn't? Has your ex-husband used your favourite name EVER for one of his kids? Well, pass it along so someone else can use it (because some of us are seriously stuck for names this time.)

Ours are:

Girl
Miranda
Maya
Ivy

Boy
Connor
Logan
Aidan
Gareth
Samson (this was nearly River's name, but it didn't suit him.)

Helen mum to five and mistress of mess and mayhem, making merry and mischief til the sun goes down.

This is a great idea!! All I have at the moment are girl names.

Julianne (veto'ed by DH because "kids will call her a potato")
Dannika (veto'ed because he didn't want her to be a Dan too)
Daniella (same reason)
Cadence (he started prattling on about marching cadences)

I'm sure I'll have more to add......we can't agree on anything!!!

Angie, proud Army wife to Dan, mom to Kat (4/00) and Gracie (11/09)!!

Nobody wants mine as I love weird names.

I like Chenoa, Denali, Teyha, Maiara and Malila as well as Anjeni for girls.
My hubby agreed to my favorite two days ago but I'm weird about sharing that on the net.

For boys I like Rivers. That was it for boys really.

Snarky Army wife, mom to 2 girls : 6, : 9, twin boys, 4 : and born 12/10.

Gabriel is one of my favorite boy's names. I knew a couple Gabes growing up, and always really liked their name.

Hmm...I can't even think of what was on the reject list. There wasn't a reject list for boys names, since we came up with it before we were pregnant to honor a grandfather who passed away.

For girls names, DH didn't like Astrid or Sylvie, which I liked, but they never were really on my list. Or Eyre or Bronte for a middle name, darn him.

Cloud, mommy to her happy little Nimbus, born 11/09!

Josephine is the only name we really rejected from our list, and that's because the name brings back traumatic memories for the woman I consider a sister, and I can't stomach the thought of her having to have flashbacks over a name, and my fiance agrees. She's more important than a name. It was our second name anyway since we didn't know if the twins were both girls or boys, or one of each. We ended up losing one anyway, so only one baby.

here's our list of names that didn't make the cut...

girls
Ruby
Josephine
Nina
Maxine
Noelle (as my DH said Hell-Noelle.... )
Simone

boys
Vincent
Maximo
Alessandro
Rafael
Marco
Mateo

then we found out that we're having another boy...so the girls list doesn't really matter anyway, we've pretty much settled on a boys name that we both really love...but since our families just love to serve judgement on names etc, we're keeping it a secret until babe #2 makes his debut!

Olive-Aunt named Olive that I'd rather not honor
Olivia-too popular for my taste

Well...there were plenty more but I can't think of them right now.

Mandy, Jesus loving, homebirthing, cloth diapering, baby wearing, breastfeeding, non-vaxing, food growing, homeschooling, hippy mama of 4.

Oh, where to start???

DH and I don't agree on names at ALL.

Boys names that have been rejected:

From me:
Thomas
Edward

From DH:
Rakkan
Sari
Sami
Rayyan

Girls names that have been rejected:
Names that I liked:
Louisa
Margaux (Margot)
Marguerite
Charlotte
Lina
Sarah
Isabelle

Hum, there were others, I can't think of more

From DH:
Julie (too many in the family already)
Leila
Abir
Elissar

Sorry, am having a brain fart. It's easier to remember the names I loved that he hated than the other way around!

Anyway, I think we're down to one boy's name and two girl names. We shall see.

Parker
Maximilian - DH says it will be shortened to Max, which in 6th grade will become Maxi-Pad, and then, "Pad Boy."

DS, 10/07. Allergies: peanut, egg, wheat. We've added dairy back in. And taken it back out again. It causes sandpaper skin with itchy patches and thrashing during sleep. Due w/ #2 late April, 2012.

Claudia
Hattie
Clementine
Caroline

I adore Cecilia and Clementine! They would've been on our reject list too if we were having a girl, DH thought they were too old.

Girls (since we're not having one):
Emeline
Lucia/Lucy

Boys (didn't make final cut because of middle name choice):
Silas
Sawyer
Tucker
Judah

We're really really in love with the name Sascha for a boy (it's a male name in Germany), but we're afraid that he'd be messed with for having a girl's name once we move back to the States. Opinions?

Mama to a wild girl and a chill lil' man , wife to a mad scientist , and resident of a country that I love to hate and hate to love.

Apparently, my foodie husband was a school bully in his past, and he thinks they will.

Some more to add to the rejection pile:

Emmalyn
Madeline
Hermione
Juliette
Caroline (or as he put it....."Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet Caroliiiiiiiiiine... bah bah bah!!!!!!"-- I don't think many bullies listen to Neil Diamond!)

Angie, proud Army wife to Dan, mom to Kat (4/00) and Gracie (11/09)!!

this is so interesting...

my sister's name is Cecelia. (although she goes by Celia now, but I always thought the original spelling was beautiful-my dad picked her name for the patron saint of music.... me I missed being a Jennifer by a stroke of luck.....gotta love the 70's!)

I love, love the name Josephine, but got shot down hardcore last time round by the fam- ("What???!!!" was the response) Anyway, I had thought of it because my favorite grandfather was Joseph. But now its a non-issue as we're having another boy. And we decided to forgo Vincent, as suddenly there are a lot of them where we are, go figure! And I'm not a fan of the nickname Vinny....we have an italian enough sounding name already!

And the girl's list weren't truly rejects but we just won't get to use them....

We don't really have any on the reject list...just some that are meh!. I'm pretty picky about names and hate ones that can be shortened or turned into anickname. DD2 has one and it drives me insane. So anything meh! or nicknameable is out. Boys are out since we aren't having one.

DH "admitted" the other night that he has always wanted the name Lucy. I finally got to catch up with a friend the next day and come to find out they are using the name! They are doing Lucille but will call her Lucy. It cracks me up. It's such a random name for DH to throw out there that it caught me off guard. I don't hate it but it was just random for him. I was telling my friend about it and she just sort of goes quiet and finally spills the beans (they weren't going to tell anyone). Glad I didn't say it was a horrible name!

I don't share our picks with family anymore. They say things without thinking, and well, it really isn't up to them... If I am really presses, I'll make something up. But this time no one is asking because they are thrown off by not knowing the sex of the baby... hehe. Gotta keep them guessing,

And I didn't like Josie at first, either, but it has grown on my and really fits my baby girl.

My Vincent doesn't go by Vinny. People tried to call him that, but he would correct them and say, "my name is Vincent, not Vinny."

We only consider C names, since all of ours have C names.

And, my reject list really comes down to personalities/meanings that come with names. So, I won't go into the names I would never consider, because I don't want to offend anyone by stereotypes or generalities . We have used names that we take a "gamble" on because we don't know any other persons with that name or the meaning. So, we will joke that it is the name we gave the child that is being onhery. LOL

Now, DH will turn his nose up to many names, and I never know why.

My best friend, who is my children's godmother, in case something happens to us, has a C name. We are having another girl, and she was giving me a lot of baby names. I asked her why she never suggested her name, and she said there was never a "Cr..." she ever liked in her school growing up, and have always wanted to change her name. She doesn't allow her husband to call her by name, although I never noticed that. LOL What is funny, is that being of the same generation, and knowing many girls that had her name in my school as well, I also never liked a "Cr.." either, and never considered it for a name of any of my children. But, she turned out great, and I know there is always an exception to every name. Her name is close to one of my children's already, so that is the main reason I can't use it. I never liked my name either, because of its popularity growing up, but when I got adopted later in my childhood, I didn't have the heart to change the name my mother gave me. So, I kept it (and my silly middle name Sunshine), but misspelled it on purpose.

I have gotten to use two of my rejected names for our lost twins; first lost twin 19 mos ago is Collier, and my 2nd lost twin of 3 mos ago is Cadence. So, that can work out pretty well. Kymberli
