Please?

Is there anything I can do to get her up and out a little bit? I'm not kidding when I say she is very deeply in my pelvis/engaged. I sit on her head all the time. By the end of the night it's insanely awkward to sit. My body squishes down on to hers.

I don't care if she only moves up a tiny little bit. I just want to sit down and know it's my butt that's coming in contact with my couch and not her head.

Never thought I'd be asking how to unengage a baby.

well, I wouldn't want to mess with her position if she is head down.

Perhaps sit with your legs wide open or when you sit elevate your legs on a pillow?

It would take a crane to get her out of a head down position. I just want her up a tad. I'm not asking for her to get completely out of a head down position. Just move up a bit. Once my kids engage they don't switch positions. Now granted every pregnancy is different but she's been firmly head down for the majority of this pregnancy so I'm definitely not worried about that changing.

I don't know if you can raise her up or not but if you have a yoga ball, that would probably be more comfortable. I sit on mine all the time when my pelvis hurts or he feels especially low, it's great reliefe.

Sit crosslegged, butterfly pose, or tailor pose, on the floor. Lean forwards and try and put your boobs on the floor. Then lean a bit more forwards and stay there until you can't.

Do not do this past 38 weeks or so, but you're not actually due til Christmas, are you? There's two of you in that there body, and you get rights too.

I'll have to try that one Helen! I sit cross legged all the time (only way I can sit really since it allows for my stomach to go somewhere ) but rarely on the floor.

Yup, due at Christmas time. I think if she wasn't taking up so much dang pelvic room I'd be more ok with her current position but good grief! My kids have big heads and the rate she's going she's going to have a MONGO head.

I suggest the floor simply so that you don't fall over and get stuck in an undignified position It'll also disengage a breech baby, but it's not a very nice thing to do to someone... but then, fetuses aren't generally very nice people, I find. Not as selfless and accommodating as they could be...

I think she's so very wedged in there already because I have been sitting on my yoga ball for so long. I've been using it since like 20 weeks. I should pull it back out and try it though. I haven't used it in a month about.

My midwife suggested kegels for keeping the baby high. Can't hurt anyway and will help with getting ready for the pushing stage.

About to have 3 little chicks due with #3 Dec 15th

I'm taking bradley classes, and the "pelvic rocks" are meant to get the baby out of the pelvis. also the side lying position. I'm sure you could google bradley excercises and find good explinations/pictures. after i get the little one's to bed i'll try to find a link if i can.

Really? I do them all the time (heck, I think they facilitated in me getting pregnant ). I'll have to google that one!
