I apologize in advance for the length and the angst.

3:00am I was woken up by horrific cramps, the worst I can remember (and I used to miss school because of the pain). We were up till 5:30-6:00 am, the only thing that helped was a hot bath. I started bleeding pretty much like my period at that point. We went back to sleep and this morning when I woke up I'd passed a huge clotted thing, with a small pink area, and now the bleeding is just like a heavy period. Still have cramps, but they aren't as bad.

I called my Dr. office to let them know. The UV of a nurse wanted me back into the ER. I'm having a flipping m/c and if it hasn't quite happened yet it's only a matter of time. I don't want to go back in, pay good money, to have them tell me either what they did yesterday, or what I already know... I am no longer a momma I am not hemorrhaging out, I am not dizzy or lightheaded, I am just having a natural m/c.

It's the last week of classes, I was supposed to have a pathology lecture on tetrology (the study of why babies have birth defects or m/c) I'm nto going. I'll listen to it before the exam but I am NOT GOING.

We wanted this baby. We need a name for him. Possibly worst of all, we can't try for another 2 years. This was our oops, our perfectly timed oops, that must have been meant for us to have. Only, obviously the baby wasn't meant for us to have.

OHH Bubblette,

I am so sorry to hear this development.

I am so sorry that there isn't anything that we can do to ease your pain. I can only hope that the next few days will pass with relatively little physical pain, and that you have a strong partner and family/friends.

please drop a line whenever you feel like you can, you will continue to be in our thoughts,
charlene

oh my dear, I am so sorry to hear this Follow your instincts, you don't need to go see a doctor unless you're hemorrhaging. I didn't see my midwife til a month after the m/c to make sure that my cervix was closed. The loss board is full of good info and wonderful sympathetic women, I got a lot of help there. Huge hugs for your loss, my prayers are with you for physical and emotional healing

p.s. forgot to mention, if you have negative blood type you might want to check out getting the Rhogam shot since you don't know what your baby's blood type was. You have 72 hours to figure that out. hugs again.

: Please take care of yourself. And definitely go in for a Rhogam shot in the next 2 days if you are a negative blood type.

I'm so very sorry, Bubblette. Take good care of yourself.

I hope this doesn't sound flip or trite, but after I experienced something a little similar, I came across this phrase tacked to someone's wall. I liked it, and mybe you will too
"It will all be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end."

Oh mama, I am so, so, sorry. What you are going through sounds just like my loss with Jabez.

I want to encourage you to name you baby. It took me two years to do it, but it brought me more healing and closure than I ever could have imagined. You had a real baby living inside of you. You are a mother.

I'll warn you- over the next few weeks, family and friends will most likely make plenty of well-meaning comments that will do nothing but make you feel numb. Try to forgive them, because they're just clueless, and they really don't know what to say.

Crunchy wife to my high-school sweetheart, mama to DS (10/23/05) , DS (11/22/07) , DD (3/9/10) , and DS (5/26/12),  and three babies in Heaven.
