I'm thinking I'm feeling some fluttering but I'm not sure if it is actually baby movement. It seems early but it's very distinct. Because mostly everything I'm feeling feels new I'm also not sure if it's just some stretching or new twinge, etc.

Can any of you who've been pregnant before describe where it normally is and what it feels like? I've read it feels like butterflies and that's sort of what it feels like but I'm still not sure.

Sort of like butterflies or someone lightly tickling you from the inside. You're probably far enough to feel flutters - especially when you're just being still and comfortable.

Exciting stuff, eh?

For me it felt like bubbles popping, or like a muscle twitch (like when your eyelid twitches and you can't control it?). I've been feeling it off and on for several weeks now

Like stomach bubbles. To me, it feels like when you eat something that rumbles your stomach a little and you feel bubbles. Once you feel it several times you recognize that it is different than other body feelings.

Well, I never felt flutters with my first pregnancy, and I haven't felt any yet this time.

I did feel muscle twitches -- but that was actual muscle twitches!

I didn't feel movement until 17 weeks with my first pregnancy, and then it felt like a big flop in my belly. After that it got pretty easy to tell baby from gas, etc. I am 12w now and haven't felt anything that feels baby like. Our uteri are still pretty thick so not many ppl can feel baby movement this early on.

I think early baby movements feel exactly like involuntary eyelid twitches. Only in your belly! IME they are very distinct. I don't expect to feel anything for a long time yet, but I can't wait!

I'm surprised that I haven't felt much fluttering yet, usually do by now, but I have been feeling the rolling. At least I think it's when the baby rolls over as that's what it feels like, and like when going down a steep hill quickly my stomach drops. Not really a fun feeling, but nice to know something is going on in there.

I agree. I didn't feel movement until around 18 weeks with my previous pregnancies.

For me it felt like wicked gas but when you feel it, you know.

I feel thunks. I guess they could be like a solid flutter, but it's more like a small someone bashing into the side of my uterus, which is totally what happens!
I felt this one at 8 weeks, which I am sure some people think is unlikey, but the next day I had an ultrasound and I felt the thunk right where the baby was. So I know I was right.
I feel a thunk about once a day.
