Jools, I'm so sorry that you are going through this. It's hard enough without receiving rude treatment and sub-standard care. I agree with PaytonPlace that having an advocate with you is a good idea. Soaking a pad an hour warrants further investigation and hearing a fetal heartbeat isn't enough.

I pray that everything will be fine with you and your babe, in spite of all the complications. You sound like a strong, positive person. We're here for you.

Oh Jools.... Gosh mama. I hopen you are in hospital right now and that they're giving you the care they ought to be.

Please let us know how things turn out. If you should lose your child, please know that there are those of us who've been through the same thing and we will be there for you. However I do know another lady who is almost term now and she had a tremendous amount of bleeding earlier in the pregnancy, caused by a subchoronic haematoma (I think that's how you spell it...). Anyhow she had a good ending and the bleeding stopped, so hopefully that is what will happen with you too.

Thinking very hard of you today.... *HUGE hugs* XXXXXXX

I agree with others that this is a concern to YOUR body, they are saying the baby is fine & healthy, but your body is not fine & healthy is you are having continual blood loss that is abnormally heavy. I really hope you can take someone with you to help fight for the care you deserve.
I totally agree with this. For the sake of your own health you need to demand some answers, even or especially if the baby appears ok. I'll be thinking about you. Please keep us updated.

I see someone else shared with you about a 18 week loss, I had a 14 week loss, so you're right in the middle of the two, maybe you'll get some insight from mine as well.

I started bleeding on Thursday, finally passed the baby on Saturday. I had no cramping at all until Saturday morning, and it was light. I wouldn't say I ever got to "labor", but I did have to breathe through some of the cramps, and I was in the car (we went to a movie, I was going nuts sitting at home waiting), and I remember saying, "how do people go to the hospital in labor? this sucks!". I passed the baby into the toilet, it was about the size of a golfball, if you include the placenta.

I didn't know that I might bleed like I did, in retrospect, I wish someone had told me it might be a lot of bleeding all at once, and told me to try to do some fundal massage or something. I bleed enough to warrant a 911 call when I passed out. I was admitted to the hospital overnight, offered a blood transfusion (declined, not sure it was the right decision), and went home very weak.

I'll keep thinking of you, sending you support through the internet waves.

R~mama to 3

Mama ~ could this be a subchorionic hematoma? If they did a scan they could see if this was the case. They need to do a scan & check. Most of these bleeds are not threatening to the babe, and it is possible to bleed all the way through the pregnancy.
