I've known for a couple weeks now but had to wait to test but I am officially confirmed as being PG. Estimated due date Nov. 28th. So they will be 10-11 months apart depending on how early/late the baby comes.

Oh. My. Gosh! Well congrats! Now, just remember to eat VERY very well this time around - I just came out of a close pregnancy (I conceived about 5.5 months after losing Josie in 2008) and it can be a bit more taxing body-wise. What I found helped was taking it easier than with my first pregnancy, and going to a chiro because in the end my joints in my hips started really hurting and I got SPD rather badly. I wasn't quite as mobile as with Josie, but all in all it wasn't so bad!

Anyway go you! XXX

Mama to Josie , lost 10/10/08 at 37.4 weeks .

whoa! congratulations!

you gave me pause. I was just talking to my dh about this a few hours ago, how i would be hysterical if that happened to us right now, and how I know people who relied on breastfeeding to avoid pg, did everything 'right', and still got pg. I hope you don't mind me being nosy, but were you ebf and how did you know you were pg? I need to know if my paranoia is justified.

good luck!

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

Well he's had a couple weeks to deal with the idea that I could be PG although he's held out hope that I wasn't. Today he's "you aren't going to want another one are you?" and I said no LOL So he's cool

I wonder if they will end up sharing a birthday There was a chance of that with my two dds. Dd1s b-day is 1/22 and my EDD with #3 was 1/23. She was born 1/18 so no shared birthday after all. But only 4 days apart!

The woman I used to babysit for had two babies share a birthday. They were exactly one year apart from each other.

Yes, I'm interested in this as well! I'm ebf, but we use pacifiers (not to avoid feeding, but that might be an unintended result, I don't know) and sometimes Ela goes 4 or 5 hours without eating.

I'm wondering if you had your period back yet before becoming pregnant?

Anyhow, congrats and good luck!

I am EBF but I do work so I have to pump (I usually do it every 2-3 hours) and the baby takes EBM while I'm awy.

I had my period at 5.5 weeks. Normally I don't get it back until 8 weeks, I'm not sure if consuming the placenta had anything to do with the quick return. I did notice that my PP bleeding stopped way sooner with this one than my other one.

So from there I had a general idea when I would be ovulating and sure enough I had some (what I thought was) implantation spotting/cramping then the symptoms came on. What should have been AF day came and went so I decided to test and sure enough I got a positive.

I know it is really early to get PG, I knew it would be a long shot to even get PG but this is my only window of opportunity to ever have another baby. Something inside of me tells me that I need to have one more. DH wanted to get a V LOL He just figured until later he was safe from getting me knocked up LOL

Wow, you did get af back early! I have read that for purposes of suppressing ovulation pumping is NOT the same as bf as far as how it affects the hormones in our bodies, so that must be a contributing factor.

I usually get AF back around 9-11 months, but I am so worried about making sure I don't get pg again, I am freaked out every time I read about a mom who EBF on demand, co-sleep, AP and all that and still got AF early or even got pg again without that warning period. I have always been fine with the 6 month ebf window, and not bothered to chart or anything until the end of the 6 months, but I am totally paranoid right now.

Anyway, congrats again! I am happy for you that you got what you were trying for!

Congrats!!!
I have two that are 11m6d apart. It was really hard in those first months, then just hard until one year and it's been smooth sailing every since!!! We did hit a bump in the road this year (they are 11 and 12) when the elder DD started participating in activities the younger daugher doesn't. The younger feels left behind a little.

Anyway - I echo the eat well and take good care of yourself. Congrats, again!!!

Wow, congrats! Irish twins End of November is a great time to have a baby, that's when DD was born!

I am TERRIFIED of getting pregnant again. I'm actually scared I am right now, because I was "in the mood" and we DTD sans protection (we haven't used a condom in over 2 years, I forgot we needed to do that kind of thing!) The last 2 times I was "in the mood" I got pregnant :S

I really want DH to get the snip, but the dr won't do it because he's under 30....stupid doctors.

We're supposed to make an appointment again next year and the dr will consider doing it then. He says that 50% of marriages end in divorce so just because DH doesn't want more kids with me doesn't mean his next wife won't. That stat seems pretty steep to me, but I guess he's a dr so he can say whatever he wants.

DDC crashing from new posts!
Congrats Mama! What wonderful news.
Wanted to post in response to some posters questions re ebf and conception. My personal experience was with baby no 1 who was practically surgically attached to my boob! He was ebf and was always in my arms. He fed practically every 90 minutes, I kid u not! In spite of this our much welcomed baby number 2 was determined to join our family sooner rather than later. They are about 13 mths apart. My hcp at the time had said that I had no chance of conceiving until he weaned or I intoduced solids. I did not have a warning period. Subsequently I have noticed that I usually ovulate once postpartum between 8-16 weeks, get af and then stop ovulating again until 10-12 mths. So I think each body is different, but I always say if u r not ready, then ebf is not a reliable way to try to avoid.

wbg...constantly amazed by Z , cherishing I , inspired by P , adoring K and still getting butterflies when I wake up with B !
