I took a test the other day. I remember when I was pregnant swearing that I'd never have to take one again, but I had a bad experience with someone's perfume at the movie theater and thought, OMG?! It was negative, thank god. AF has never arrived until I introduced solids.

I did have random spotting once a month starting at 8w pp with my third. I really thought it was AF until she actually came back and I remembered what AF REALLY is.

Um, yeah. AF found me. Dammit! The curse of a baby who sleeps well. I got it on Mother's Day, no less! With the older boys AF didn't make her appearance until 11 and 18 months. This is crap. Boo.

I seriously cannot believe all these ebf moms getting their pd back so early!! I was just talking to a woman whose kids are 11 months apart and I assumed she hadn't been bfing. WRONG!! She took 6 months maternity leave and when she came back she was 4 months pg!! Only to leave 5 months later for another 6 months. That is seriously scary to me. I don't know how I could cope with 2 kids less than a year apart!!

Let's hope so -- for everybody!

And it does seem that many are posting of this around 8 weeks pp... maybe there's really something hormonal about it... or else just really flukey that so many of us are experiencing this around the same time.. ?

Ok, so I was digging around online and said lochia can go away and but come back even out at 8 weeks pp. So, I'm hoping that's all this is. I seem to vaguely remember something like this happening after Ds1, too...

Mine's only spotting, I guess I'd be more concerned if I was getting fertility signs and everything, too, but it's just spotting and some cramps yesterday.

It must have been hormonal stuff because BFN and no spotting since. I'm encapsulating my placenta today to hopefully get things back on track. I've been feeling weird.

So I've had about 3-4 days of spotting, would you call it a period. 2 days were heavy enough that I needed a light pad/panty liner

argh!
I am so sick of bleeding. I sware to god I only stopped like a week ago and I am just praying that the spotting that started this afternoon is my pp body's reaction to the fact that I went for a 2+ mile hilly walk yesterday and is not my freakin period. I'm breastfeeding around the clock and I'm only 10wks out here!

1babysmom - I haven't had anymore bleeding, but I've been having somewhat fertile looking discharge on and off since my bleeding stopped. I'm thinking I'm fertile or my body's trying to be.

Nothing yet again... but it's been just about exactly four weeks since the last few days of spotting (which was at 8.5 weeks or so)... so.. i don't know. I'll give it another week or so to see if it was a fluke or what...

Mine never developed into anything more than brown spotting. I don't think it was a full period. It hasn't been long enough to know for sure, though. My normal cycles are about 5 weeks long, and even when they did come back at 14 months the other times, it took a while to kick in and be even that often (for the entire second year I was pretty irregular.)

I've been cramping a lot and feeling hormonally crazy... HPT was -, so I'm thinking AF is going to rear her ugly head here any time.

well, I'm 99% sure that this is it for real. It surprised me because I'm not cramping like I used to but it has gone beyond spotting so there is very little question anymore. Anyway, I read that some women who used to have bad cramps pre-pregnancy (which I did) have much milder periods after.
I've decided to look at the positive and be thankful that I'm not in pain and hopeful that this totally manageable vague discomfort will be the future of AF for me. I've also decided that at least now I can stop wondering whether I'm fertile or not. The idea of getting pregnant during that pre-first-period ovulation was freaking me out.

It's definitely useful to be able to chart. Be aware, though, not all women go back to being regular immediately. For me, w/my first, I went from pre-preg having 25-28 day cycles to post partum cycles being 5 weeks almost exactly for a few months, then DD started teething and nursing a lot more and I had a 60 day cycle, then a 45 day cycle (I got pregnant 31 or so days in, but we weren't avoiding). So, they can get wonky again, sometimes... just so you know. I only mention it because I wish someone had told me that could happen... I was fairly freaked out when AF didn't return during that 60 day cycle and the preg tests kept coming out neg.

I bled (sometimes fairly heavy) off and on for about two weeks, and then it stopped and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a period. I talked to my midwife about it and she told me that while it's unusual, it's not abnormal to get period-like bleeding even as late as 10 or so weeks postpartum and that most likely it's just hormonal.

Mine never developed past spotting so I don't think it was AF. I was so upset!! Probably over nothing. Although, I have been getting Nora to nurse alot more lately so maybe that is helping my hormones get back to happy nonfertileness.

I hope you are all af free for a long time!

My DD is literly attached to my boob every waking moment (or it feels like that) but my blessing/cure is she started STTN at a very early age (like by 2 months we were at 10 hours) so I was cursed with AF returning at 10weeks...

I seem to have light spotting every other week. I don't know what it is, maybe my hormones working them selves out. For now though no real AF. Bram is 12 weeks, and will be 3 months on Sunday.

I spotted/light bleeding on and off for 10 days. I have not had any now about 4 weeks since it started. If we aren't archived in 2 weeks, I'll come back and update. Maybe it wasnt AF.

I don't remember this happenning with DD1... but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I hope that AF does not return for a while yet. I really don't want to get preg when my youngest is under 12 months, and I refuse to take hormonal birth control (it messes me up). My BC of choice is LAM + withdrawl, followed directly by abstinence (poor hubby ). My first preg was concieved while using condoms, so I don't trust them one bit.
