I don't feel I have a connection to J as I did/do with C. C would never let anyone hold her. She only wanted me. She always was nursing too. We had this bond that was amazing. J doesn't care. Anyone can hold him and he could care less. Sometimes he doesn't even want me to hold him, he screams and screams until someone else holds him and he stops. I don't get it. We are not bonded. I don't feel as close to him?
Ericka, I am bf-ing, but Ds is a very different baby than DD. Unless he wants to nurse, he is just happy to be held by anyone who wants to hold him.Now I wonder if some of my "first time mom" protectiveness of DD was actually *her* need/desire to be only with me. Every baby is different, every bond is different, and even if my children were exactly the same, I can't be the same kind of mother because there are two now.
GTG, Ivy-- When DD was 1.5, her sitter didn't show up before class one day, so I put her in a back carry and taught the class that way... she did well until the last ten minutes, when she started SHOUTING "Nuhsss! Nuhsss! Nuhsss!" That was fun.
Hope to see everyone on the LWAB thread!

Highlights (or really lowlights from our trip)
Staying at 3 different houses in 7 nights
Sharing a double bed with a 4 year old and a 4 month old
Kelsey decided it would be super cool to be awake in the middle of the night for hours on end 3 out of the 7 nights. (first time she's ever done this, even from day 1 and of course she does it when we are away from home and all sharing a room)
Kelsey pooping 2 nights in a row in the middle of the night (hasn't done this in months either)
Heavy steady rain and super cool temps 4 out of 7 days (and of course, I didn't bring clothes for 60 degree weather)
A super cranky, sleep deprived, 4 year old
And all of us had a mild cold the whole trip
We did have a good time seeing family and it was great to see DD1 run around with her 2 yo old cousin, but my goodness, this trip made me never want to go anywhere again.
Praying Kelsey will sleep tonight, need to get myself to bed too!
we have our first big trip coming up in a week or so. thank goodness we have the FF miles so we don't have to do the 10hr (before stops) drive! and we get a king bed on the other end. i really hope charlie will do well...
me+him for 15 yrs, welcomed our little one march 25th, 2010.
