So the family has started trying to find a nickname for our wee one who will be named Penelope Rose.

So far the suggestions have been Penny (what grandma goes by), Poppy, Piper, and Nellie.

Any others?

Dissertating wife of Mr. Amazing Man, mother to Boo Bear ( ) Captain Knuckle (13), and The Professor (5). Expecting Penelope Rose 5/10/2010 via planned c/s.

I like Penny, too, but I adore Pippa. I was going to name my last Philippa and call "her" Pippa; "she" turned out to be our first son, Philip. ;-)

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies, but I think we might just have a winner here! Out of my five sisters, the one I am closest too is nicknamed Ellie. I think Ellie would be a wonderful nickname for this little Penelope. Now why didn't I think of that?

I love Nellie-have heard Pip before and that's cute, but the name begs the nickname Penny I think Ellie or even Ella could mesh-(sorry didn't read other posts, maybe some repeats here)

Thanks again ladies for all the great suggestions! At dinner the other evening, I told hubby about all of your great ideas & our youngest one said, "Look Mom. You are making it too complicated. Just call her Cupcake."

I don't know which was funnier - the nick name he has decided to call her or the nerdy tone in his voice when he declared I was making it too complicated.

Thanks, we think so too, but then again we are a bit prejudiced in the matter. She is being named after her grandmothers - Penelope is my wonderful MIL's name and Rose is my mom's name.
