Hang in there, everyone!
So we went in on Weds, and had the amnio first to check for lung development. I'd honestly thought it was just a formality, dotting our "i"s and crossing our "t"s, since I've had a 34 weeker with great lungs. But no, her lungs were not mature. Luckily, they know pretty much exactly how long it takes to get from the point she was to fully mature, so we're now scheduled for Thurs. 6/17, and they won't even have to do an amnio first.
It's odd, though, to be on (modified) bedrest to avoid labor at essentially full term. We really really don't want me to go into labor spontaneously, not only because we know she's not done cooking until Weds or Thurs, but also because Cora was a precip (born 3 hours after I woke up!), and Fiona really really canNOT be born vaginally, due to the liver being out in the omphalocele.
Welcome to baby Fiona with a giant omphalocele, 6/17/10!
