I think with the Sam at the beginning and the son at the end of the last name, it blends into Samson Delilah to me.

And I think Quinn Adelaide Irina Genevieve Bronwyn Olive Amara Piper Olivia Micah is too many names for a little kid.

My favs; Samara, Adelaide & Piper. (one of my favorite songs is Adelaide from "Guys and Dolls."

Middle names are tough - we always like middle names to have a meaning; so not sure if any of those fit the bill.

Me (40) DH (49) daring DD (9) and darling DS - almost THREE! (born June 25, 2010 in an amazing, unplanned homebirth.jpg

Saw this thread in New Posts, I apologize for crashing.

I really like Samara, but not with Delilah (the Samson thing, again).
I think Samara would sound best with a short middle name. Ideally one syllable, two at the most.

Happy naming!

I agree myself with the Sampson and Delilah thing- and my DH doesn't care at all about anything biblical and doesn't seem to think it matters to most people since it doesn't to him (I'm sure he's never even heard the story). I wonder if he's looked it up? This morning he likes Samara Olivia instead... I like it too I think... I really do like Samara Delilah but I think most people will see the connection.
it's SO TOUGH to name a baby. She'll be a week tomorrow and we've been trying to pick names for about 42 weeks now

I don't mind the crashers, Irishmommy and alsoSarah!

Oh right, another thought I have about Samara- my name is Sarah is that just too weird to have names that are somewhat similar sounding?

Samara is a great name, and it doesn't matter what the middle name is, because barely anyone will know, much less use it.

I like Samara Olivia better. I didn't hear the Samson and Delilah thing until someone said it...but it was just too much of a mouthful. But, as the PP said, it doesn't REALLY matter. If you guys like both names, I say go for it.

agree with the samson & delilah thing, and also that a short middle name would go well with samara. love the name samara, it's beautiful! i like samara quinn also.

Crashing-
If your name is Sarah, and you name her Samara, various family members will probably get tongue tied and call her Sarah more than a few times. My name is Laura, and both my girls have names that end in A- that's it, they don't even start with an L, and my Grandmother and Dad often call Mya, Laura (and the baby Anna, gets called her sister Mya) So, I guess my point is, people can get confused no matter what you do. It is way less confusing than naming her Sarah Jr. anyway.

Samara Olivia sounds lovely.

Laura, Mama to Mya 7/02, Ian 6/07 and Anna 8/09

Both dds and I have names that end in the same sound, one 3 syllables, 2 two syllables, and dh and I start with the same letter.

I'm the only one that gets the kids' names wrong. .
