I'm six weeks one day, and I'm spotting and slight cramping.

I have a call in to the midwife, but it's going to take her a while to get back to me, because she's currently attending a birth.

If I miscarry, this will be my fourth miscarriage, the others happening at 8 weeks, 16 weeks, and 6 weeks. So I knew better than to get my hopes up this early. But I did it anyway. Got all excited and everything.

I want an ultrasound. I want reassurance. But I know an ultrasound won't stop anything that may be happening, so I don't know whether to ask for one.

do you have access to a hfs? if so, i highly recommend this brew from wise woman herbal for the childbearing year. it stopped my spotting and cramping when i was pg with dd.

i do remember the recipe at the beginning instructing to drink a cup every half-hour until symptoms subside, and to also add the lobelia to every cup.

i sipped on mine throughout the day, and the spotting went away.

THREATENED MISCARRIAGE BREW

1 tablespoon dried Black Haw root bark or Cramp bark
3 tablespoon dried Raspberry leaf
10 drops Wild Yam root tincture
10 drops False Unicorn root tincture
60 drops Lobelia herb tincture

Put herbs in quart jar and add four cups of boiling water. Steep until cool enough to drink. Add tinctures to one cupful of tea and drink. If contractions continue for more than 30 minutes, add 60 drops of Lobelia tincture to a second cup of tea. Drink a cup every 3 hours, adding tinctures as needed, until miscarriage no longer threatens. Increase the effectiveness of the brew by resting in bed and taking 500 IU of vitamin E every six hours.

If you need anything, you have my number.
I'm really really sorry to hear this, but remember, that doesn't necessarily mean you're having a miscarriage.

Ask for what you want. Also, can one of the other midwives get back to you? Do what you need to do to feel better.

Im so sorry about your previous miscarriages but I do want to share my experience with you, my second pregnancy I started spotting at 6 weeks along with cramping and that baby is now 7 yrs old. It isnt abnormal to spot so early on, hoping that is the case with you.

Could you request a quick check of your progestrone? Even if she is at a birth, it might be possible for her or her assistant to call in a request for a lab order for you. Low progestrone is a frequent cause of spotting and if it is the culprit, they can give you supplements to take. If you have a GP, it might be possible to call them as well for a blood work request.

my progesterone was fine a week ago, and my symptoms haven't decreased since then.

She still hasn't called me back. If I don't get a call in the next hour, I'll call back and ask for her partner to be called to call me.

Still cramping, but it's not bad.

I talked to the midwife, and she's not that concerned. She said to take a warm bath, drink lots of water (8 cups! I'm going to float away!), and take some calcium and magnesium, and call if it gets worse.

I'm probably just being paranoid.

mama. I don't think your paranoid...I would be freaking out! Try to find some comfort in the fact that your midwife isn't concerned.

HUGS mama!

Drink the above recommended brew if you at all can get it, use some wild yam cream if you have it, drink water, perhaps even a glass of alcohol (recommended in the wise woman herbal book, it smooths the uterine muscles and is administered by IV in many hospitals to prevent miscarriage) and lie down.

I had some spotting with DD around 7wks, but I don't remember if I had cramping too. But it was enough to really freak me out, and I remember the stress.

I stopped spotting. Still occasional cramps, though, so I'm going to take it easy tomorrow. I have a BoD meeting that I'm going to attend via telephone, and I've cancelled everything else.

Still very mild cramping, but I'm just taking it easy today. I cancelled all my plans, attended the voting portion of a Board meeting via phone, and have just been playing on facebook and watching NCIS all day.

I'm glad to hear things are feeling better. I know it's terrifying after losses. You go right back to full fear and you can't simply stop it. It is good that you are taking it easy and trying to get stress relief as you can. Sending you support. Please keep us updated on how you are.
