My first was right on time my second 42 weeks exactly and my third almost 41 weeks. I am 33 weeks and the thought of 42 weeks is so tiring to me right now. Anyone else?

Me!

My babies like to bake good and long, too. My first was 41 weeks, my second just past 40, and my third, who I was sure would be early because I could feel that he was bigger than my previous two, hung in there for 41 weeks. His skin was so peely when he was born that you could tell he had outstayed his welcome!

My EDD is 7/24, but I'm really trying to mentally focus on August so that I don't start with the waiting and disappointment too soon.

Wife to a wonderful dh and mom to four beautiful kiddos, dd (3/04):, ds1 (1/06), ds2 (10/08), and ds3 (7/10)

My first was a day short of 40, but my next were 42.5 and 41.5 - so I'm not holding my breath!

Loads of blessings, and learning on the job.

My first was 41w1d so I'm not expecting anything earlier than 40 weeks. I'm visualizing my due date as go day but mentally prepared to go past that. I just don't think that far ahead so it doesn't get to me!

My first was 41w4d and I suspect this one will go a bit late too... though hopefully not quite as late! A couple days late would actually be pretty good in that one of the midwives (team of 2, plus an apprentice) will be away if the baby comes on time.

my first was 9 days OD and second was 6 days OD. So if I go by that pattern, this one will be 3 days OD, but I want him/her to come at least 9 days OD, so that he/she will be a Leo (DD2 is a cancer.. love her to bits, but she can be quite a bit too emotional at times, to say the least.. a leo would add more leadership to our mutable signed family).

I guess we'll see what happens, but i know that they come out when they feel like it. and being born in the sign of whatever doesn't guarantee anything either, I know.

Oh, you mamas are scaring me! My first was 4 days "overdue" and my midwife said this one will probably come a few days earlier than that, just because that's usually how second babies roll, but it sounds like that's not necessarily true at all. I'll reset my expectations for August again.

My first was 7 days past due date. And my second was worrying me because he was 11 days past due. I was getting closer to having to really consider induction. (I don't advocate going past two weeks...I have a friend who went three weeks past due and she and her daughter had a real hard labor and some health problems)

So castor oil to the rescue. I hear you have to be pretty late for it to work, which I was. It wasn't horrible tasting at all and didn't upset my stomach very much either. 2 TBspoons in a glass of OJ and 2 more in another glass about 4 hours later and by midnight I was in labor. Funny i didn't really feel too bad and was shocked when I went to the hospital and was 7 Cm...i didn't feel it at all but real gentle contractions that didn't even hurt. It stayed that way until about transition. Then i started to feel it!!! lol.

Both my boys were 9 pounders.

homeschooling, breastfeeding, cosleeping mama to ds1(7), ds2(3) and dd(3 months)

Terra-pip, with my third kiddo I took a licorice tincture to get labor going. I had heard black licorice works, and I happened to have some, and at the time it seemed much more appealing than castor oil or pictocin! It seems to have worked, unless it was a coincidence. That baby was 9 lbs 5 oz, so he needed to be born!

My babies were born a few days after their EDD. I keep saying to dh that there is no way this baby is still going to last another 6 weeks. He just smiles and chuckles and says, "You said that about the other two when you were nearing the end." I know he's right.

My first two were both born at 42 weeks, and my second would have stuck around at least another day or two, but we had a c-section. Everyone keeps saying this one is sure to be early, and I kinda feel that way, too, but I know he'll probably be just like his brothers & wait until the last possible second, lol!
