My son never got lower than a -3 station so I never felt anything in my pelvis. This baby makes my pubic bone bulge and when I went to the doc the other day he said the baby was low. He didn't say how low and I didn't have a vaginal exam but when I told him I felt the baby on the pubic bone he was like "oh, you feel that? That's good, baby low, better for labor." Keep in mind he's Korean. His English is good but there's still room for error sometimes. I did have a quick u/s because I'm planning an HBAC and we wanted to confirm baby was head down so he saw the baby was low and said so when he did the u/s.
So, my question is, if the baby is pushing on the pubic bone, what station would it be at? I can visualize that better than just 'it's low' or 'it's dropped'. I was taught that engaged meant 0 station. I don't think it's that low, I don't feel like i have a head between my legs but I am curious. It's a big big confidence booster for me to know this baby is actually in my pelvis. I'm planning an HBAC and I've worked so hard in this pregnancy to prevent malpositioning issues like i had with my son. Hearing the words 'the baby is low' did so much for me. But I'm technical
I want to know what is low!
