I went to see the midwife yesterday after a week of surges throughout the night along with diarrhea and mucus discharge, she checked me (3cm) and stirred things up a little, now here I sit NO surging, with so much blood and mucus I have to wash my vagina every time I pee (tmi), and I am ready to do this. I have been taking EPO, nipple stiming, walking and drinking rrl tea, I will not do castor or coshosh for fear of hyper stimulating the uterus, so I figured maybe you ladies could direct some labor vibes my way. Its a great day to have a baby, she'll be a full on Cancer, the sun is shinning, the temp is mid 70's, the skies are blue with wispy clouds, my other kiddos are all taken care of, I am well rested, my doula is here, the house is clean...

It *does* sound like the perfect day for your baby to be born! I send you lots of birthing vibes and the peace and strength you will need for the labor ahead!

(OTOH, don't worry: your baby will be born when it's ready to be born and if not today, then today wasn't meant to be the day!)

Mama to a beautiful girl since May 2007 and a beautiful boy since August 2010! :

yep~ She is now sitting pretty head first, ROA...I believe the crawling around on all fours was the answer and the midwife said she still had room to move so the last two visits she could feel the suture lines...Whew!!! Needless to say I am sooooo thankful, labor is hard enough work!

Yay! I had been thinking about you. I agree, it's hard enough work without adding the hours that presentation would add. Mine is OP. I'm working hard to move it but i figure, hey, at least it's vaginally deliverable as opposed to my last LMT! That's an improvement!

I hope things pick up and get moving for you

ooh that all sounds promising! Sending lots of labor vibes your way. I used the following pressure point in the beginning of labor with #2 and swear that it worked here is the description:

This point is located using four of the woman’s finger widths above the tip of the medial malleous, (the shin bone on the inside of the ankle). The point will be very tender and is found when you slide your finger off the edge of the tibia bone, towards the inside of the leg. It is useful on initially locating this point to press on the tibia; it produces a very different sensation from the point.

Acupressure Technique

Direct pressure is applied with the index finger or thumb.
I recommend using this point on one leg at a time for approximately one minute (count slowly to 60 !) then using it on the opposite leg 20 - 30 minutes later.
This point will be very tender and after using it some women will feel their
cervix stretching and contractions strengthening.
I would not recommend using this point once labour is established. From my own experience, labour is not about how many hours a birth takes, but how you feel during the birth.

PapayaMom - that acupressure point, I read about it stimulating labour but I also thought it helps with pain during labour. Maybe I'm wrong?

Frolick - Sending birthing vibes your way. Come on Baby, Mommy wants to meet you! Come on out, it's really cool out here!

ETA - Amy - your avatar is SO cool. Love it.

trying my pressure points...I know baby knows when, but is it selfish of me to want the birth to happen now especially since everything is in place AND the midwife I LOVE is on call today...I really want her to be at this birth!
