Well I did it. I just took an ounce (starting small) of castor oil with my breakfast smoothie.
Lucky for me it was odourless and tasteless!!! So it really wasn't bad at all, just oily.
I'm really hoping it's not too bad and that it WORKS!!! I'm at 41+1 and I just want my baby here and in my arms.
I'll try to post updates on how things go.
Wish me luck!

I really hope you're reading this now. If you are not it labor yet, take the rest of the bottle. I took a whole bottle of castor oil to "encourage" my son in 2007 when he was born (on this day, as a matter of fact!). I stretched out my dosing and only ended up with a long day of diarrhea. I took one ounce, another ounce, and then two more, over the course of 5 hours. I truly feel that the same thing could have been accomplished in a shorter amount of time. PS The poops were nothing awful, no pain, just all day on the pot. Pretty boring. And then I was so tired during labor!

GOOD LUCK!

Yes...I was thinking that my dose was small. I've read so many different things about how much to take though. I think I'll take another ounce or two now-it's been 2 hours and I'm not feeling any effect.
Thanks for the advice.

Here's the latest: It's been 7 hours since my first dose of one ounce. I took another 2 ounces at about 11 and then decided to jump right into this and finished the bottle about an hour later. So all in all I took about five ounces.

About an hour ago I felt the first erm, urge to purge. And it isn't that bad, actually. I was so scared that I was going to feel really sick and awful but I'm not reacting that way at all. It is strong stuff though. And now I think I'm feeling some contractions start that are pretty irregular but definitely much stronger than BH.
I'M SO HOPING THIS WORKS! If it does I might be holding my baby by tomorrow!
Oh I hope, I hope, I hope...

Hurray for poops!

I hope it works for you, and I'm very excited to read updates about your baby being born this weekend! (I did the castor oil too, but I was already in labour, it was taking forever to progress, so midwife suggested I take some to speed things up. I had DS about six hours later, but like I said, I was already in labour, so that's a bit different...but it's also pretty strong stuff like you said, so hopefully it'll get things going for you!).

Good luck!! If it were me, i would pull out all the stops... have sex, drink some RRL, eat some pineapple, get some nip stim, go for a walk etc. lol
Does your MW/Doc know you took the oil? Maybe you can get fit in for an appointment today for a cervical stretch?

Best wishes I'll be watching for updates and thinking of you!

Thinking of you! you're either sleeping cause it's the middle of the night where you are or something is happening. I just hope for your sake it's not all poops and no baby, btdt and it's tiring and emotionally taxing.

Sending you labour vibes a plenty, and a wonderful birth journey.
