DH can't get his car out of the hotel carpark in London until 6am!!!! It's 4.45 now!! Minimum drive time....4hrs.

Ctrx started 45 mins ago. Followed by a small leak of fluid and some mucus plug.
Coming every 3 mins now. 30 secs long. Bouncing on the ball.

I've done this before. I can do it again. RIGHT??!!!

4hr labour last time.
When should I go in....and why didn't I decide that before???!!

Yes you CAN do this!!

Can you have a warm bath and a glass of wine? If you relax your muscles maybe you can slow things down enough to wait for dh?

Chances are that if the ctx are 30secs long there is still time to wait it out a bit more.

Is there something you can do to distract yourself and 'put off labour'? sometimes doing something rational like making breakfast for your son might stall things. Could be worth a try!!

I'm thinking of you! Sending you some positivity and wishing along with you that your dp can get to you in time!

some hcp use the 4-1-1 rule or the 3-1-1 rule, so ctx every 3 minutes lasting 1 minute for 1 hour. That's not a universal rule though, as far as when to get to the hospital. I'd go in when I felt things were getting more intense and not going to slow down and make sure to give yourself enough time to get to the hosp without risking birth in the car.

Hang in there, Mama. If you needed to go before dh arrived, would your in-law's take you?

Just take it one contraction at a time Mama. You don't have a crystal ball and you don't know how things will unfold. One contraction at a time.
