Gender preferences: DH is hoping for another boy...I have no preference
Names you like: Not a clue.
Birth plans/preferences: hospital birth with CNM - same CNM, different hospital

Names you like: If it's a girl she'll be called Naomi. We were expecting Naomi last time, but it turned out DShas fooled the ultasound tech.
Birth Plans/Preferences: I'm hoping for a homebirth, but I was fairly pleased with my hospital birth last time, so that may be an option again.

EDD: July 31, though as a first-time mom supposedly I'm more likely to be a week later.
Name: Violet
Age: 37
Family (partner, other children, etc): Married just over two years
Gender preferences/inklings: We want a girl, but will be thrilled either way.
Birth Plans/Preferences: Not a whole lot of options here, so probably a midwife-assisted birth at a hospital

We decide to give it a "try" and now I'm feeling like I'm PG. It's still early for me to test since I am about a week away from when I would normally get my period. (Yes, I've tried..LOL) Also, my HCG levels take longer to go up, so I'm thinking it may be a few weeks until I know for sure. Maybe the whole thing is in my head?? I don't know. I was definitely ovulating and we have not had problems with fertility in the past, so maybe this first try worked.

I am here because it's just too early to tell family and friends. The suspense is killing me, and I figured some of the mommies on this board might be going through a similar situation. So here's my info (in case I really do get a pos. preg. test in a week or two):

EDD: Late August (I know the date of conception.)

Name: Jan

Age: 33

Location: Orlando Area

Family (partner, other children, etc): Matt, David (7), and Loralei (4)

Gender preferences/inklings: none at this time

Names you like: still early...will think when I know for sure

Birth Plans/Preferences:
Birth Center-maybe water birth? (1st was hospital/2nd was Birth Center)

Anything else you'd like to share: We are into both natural living and attachment parenting. I returned to work full-time a year ago due to economic changes. The transition has been tricky but the kids have done well. I would want to stay home for a year if I indeed am pregnant.

Congrats to everyone here.

Jan

Names you like: So many!
Birth Plans/Preferences: I had a typical hospital birth last time even though I had wanted it to be natural (they basically ignored my birth plan). So this time I've already started looking into getting insurance to cover the birthing center.

Names you like: Edward Thomas for a boy (despite Twilight, lol). DH wants Irene for a middle name for a girl... which kind of stinks considering my top choice for a first name is Josephine. Josephine Irene is just too rhymey for my taste.
Birth Plans/Preferences: Still debating between a VBA2C attempt or a repeat c/s.
Anything else you'd like to share: Congrats all you other August mamas to be.

With PCOS, it can take longer for our HCG levels to rise. I'm 13 days post ovulation and have no period OR positive HPT. I was reading on a PCOS board that one gal's doctor recommended she not even start testing until 16 DPO, so maybe that's why I'm driving myself crazy. I even read about one person who couldn't get a positive HPT until her period was a couple of WEEKS late.

It's the not knowing that is killing me. I would like to know one way or the other so I can stop thinking about the "what ifs" constantly!

I took a PG test today and am thinking I'll take another one in 2 days if I still don't have my period. That would be 15 DPO, so maybe I'll be able to get a positive test by then.

Just wanted to update you guys... Hope all is well with you!

Jan

Gender preferences/inklings: If we have a boy, we will probably stop there. If we have a girl, we might try once more. I'm not sure how I feel about stopping OR having a third. Everyone seems to think this is a girl, including DD. I kind of think it's a boy.
Names you like: James for a boy, and it looks like Phoebe might be our favorite for a girl.
Birth Plans/Preferences: I just met the midwife who will be helping me to have a hospital VBAC. My girlfriend had a VBAC with her a couple months ago, and so far I love this midwife.
