We told DS that I was pregnant a couple of days ago, we wanted to wait until we had told our families so he wouldn't say something... those toddlers can't rely on them to keep a secrete When I was telling him I told him that the baby was coming when the tomatoes were ready, we garden and tomatoes are his favorite food of all time, in a toddler time frame I thought that it would be a good frame of reference. So he started to call the baby Twayto (tomato)... DP likes baby 2.0 but I think that Twayto is the one that will stick Anyone else have baby nicknames yet?

I haven't really started yet but we'll probably call the baby "new baby". LOL.
That's what we called Sam while he was in my belly. "let's put the carseat in for newbaby"....we are so creative.

So far, with DD, it's been "the other baby." When I ask her "where's the baby?" she points to herself. When I ask, "where's the other baby?", she points to my belly.

we're calling it Bug. dd named it acidently. We used her to announce the pregnancy: "DD, what does mama have in her belly?" She answered "baby" but my mom got her confused and thought dd had said "bug". So now whenever anyone asks dd what mama has in her belly she says "BUG!!!" with great enthusiasm! I hope we can get her straightened out before Bug turns her world upside down!

me, wife to dh, the movie geek (7/01), mama to ds1, budding Star Wars geek (10/05), dd, budding princess of the dirt (03/08) and ds2, budding extrovert. watch out! (8/10).

The Lemon Bean. I told DD that it was the size of a lentil bean, and a couple days later she said, "What's a lennon bean?" I said "lentil," she said, "lemon?" and the name stuck.

Pippin, or Pip. My husband wasn't fond of my referring to the baby by whatever food size it was currently up to (9 weeks=grape!) and requested a new nickname. Anyone know where Pippin is from?

I'm pretty sure pippin was a cute little orphan from a play, but I can't remember which one.

Right now we're calling it "baby baby" as opposed to our "big baby" (DD). We, too, are not very creative.

Sesame

I think I read something somewhere that said at X number of weeks your baby is the size of a sesame seed. It stuck!

We've actually been asking each other if Sesame is such a bad name for a little girl.

The big boys named our baby "tiny". My middle son talks to the baby everyday and refers to it as "tiny". I haven't had the heart to tell him yet that the baby is just now developing ears. I'm pretty sure I won't.

Ooh, I hadn't thought of that, but you're right! My husband is a big Lord of the Rings fan so he was thinking of the hobbit Pippin.

We just call it bean, or babe. (Not very creative, I know.)
But when I asked DD who was in there she said there was two babies, a boy and a girl. The girls name is Katie and the boys name is Sammie. Sammie has blond hair and green eyes, and Katie has pink hair and pink eyes.
It was a little more elaborate than I had expected, and now I'm hoping she's not right about there being two in there....lol.

the Bumble. It stuck.

Started from Bumble-Moo [the entire tww I ate greek yogurt with honey so our baby is basically bumble bee and cow], but K didn't like that and suggested BumbleBee. I wasn't in love with it, though darling so she suggested the Bumble.

Like the Abominable Snowman, toothless, funny-looking and pretty simple. I wasn't sure I liked it but it stuck! Now everyone asks, "How's the Bumble?"

It's kinda cute. Definitely original.

K, H, and baby E (who is now three!!!)

Didn't think that I'd even have a nickname, but the instant I saw him/her on the ultrasound it popped into my head: Gummi Bear! So now it's "gummi". I'm very happy to have something to call it, now I can start talking to it without feeling silly or like I shouldn't be bonding with it yet.
