EDD: 8/13/10 In my head, my real EDD is around 8/20 because my boys were born at 42w2d and 40w5d, so I figure 41 weeks is more likely than 40.
Location:Suburb of Minneapolis
Family:Husband Dan (teacher), sons Peter and Leo (birthdates in my sig), 1 cat, and 6 backyard chickens
Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): It's boy #3. We all thought it was a girl. I grew up with a sister and dh had 3 sisters, so I have been very amused to end up with all these boys -- I just figured I'd have girls. Good thing I don't mind Legos and Star Wars. We will likely have more kids, so I figure I might end up with a daughter eventually. If not, I see my 7 month old niece often and she gives me an excuse to sew dresses.
Names you like:We were leaning towards Timothy for lack of better ideas, but sat down over the weekend and added Sebastian, Caleb, Micah, and Jonah to the list of possibilities. Middle name will probably be Edward, a family name.
Birth Plans/Preferences:My older boys were both born at home but transferred to the NICU due to breathing problems. We're going for a hospital birth this time in hopes of skipping the transfer and having less stress for my husband. My second son would have been fine with a night in a special care nursery if he'd had a hospital birth, but when you transfer, it's NICU or nothing. So hopefully, we'll end up home sooner than we have the first two times (at 8 days and 3 days).
The plan is to show up at the hospital as late as possible and probably have a waterbirth with the CNM.
Strangest craving/aversion this pregnancy:I haven't had cravings, but kiwis and bacon have tasted much better than they usually do.
Hobbies/Interests:I sew, knit, can, garden, and bike.
Occupation: I work from home 2-3 hrs a day rating articles about clients to help them learn whether their marketing is effective. It's not at all what my degree or experience is in, but I can work from 11pm-1am in my pjs if I want to, so it works for now.
How you met your SO: We had mutual nerdy high school friends -- we've been together since I was 18 and he was 16 and married for 9 years this summer.
How you ended up at MDC:I used to read birth stories and pregnancy diaries at iParenting before they were called blogs before I was even married. Someone there was having a homebirth. I used to think that was crazy but she was so normal. She led me to MDC.
Mama to Peter (3/8/04), Leo (3/12/06), Timothy (7/24/10), and boy #4 due on the summer solstice 2014
