So with all these babies coming does anyone feel like the caboose? I'm not "due" until the 25th...so I'm just 35 weeks today and now I feel like I'm the slow one in the group. I still feel like I have so far to go!

I'm really happy for all the mamas having babies, but I kind of feel like the little sister watching my older sibling go off to school while I stay behind.

Sorry...just throwing a little pity party. I know my time will come, but it still seems sooooo faaaar awaaaay!

My EDD is Aug. 28, so I still have a ways to go. I'm not really feeling behind yet, though, as I still have so many things to do! Dh has been away all week for work, so of course none of it is done and my house is a mess.

My EDD is Aug 13 and I'm feeling daily pressure to "perform". Everyone keeps asking how I'm doing, when I'm due, am I having contractions yet?

It's annoying. I just want to ignore it.

For me, It make me feel really impatient and hoping I deliver early. Of course by early I mean by one to two weeks. I, also, do not have everything ready so I feel a little bit of a panic. Still waiting for my nesting instinct to kick in. EDD 8/23.

Hang in there guys. September will be here sooner than it feels like. I know all the pestering people, with good intentions, asking when the little one will be here, makes it feel like the clock is ticking backwards.

Wife to Dh and homeschooling, mother to DD16  DS12  DS9  DS5  DS3. Due with 6th child in March 2014.

Yep, I'm due the 21st so I'm towards the back of the train, too. Especially since none of my previous babies have arrived more than two days before their due date.

With my last baby I was due in the first week of the month, so I was among the first to reach every milestone in my DDC. That was fun.

'Tis the nature of the thing. We have August mamas having their babies in July and we'll have July mamas having their babies in August.

Hang in there! At least we can still get some sleep at night for a few weeks longer!

Yep, feeling the same way. Due the 27th, and my babies so far have beeen 7-10 days late. I don't mind going later usually... but watching everyone go so far, I cannot help but have a little thought that it would be nice to have our little one sooner than later.

If you think about it, our DDC is really a window of somewhere around eight weeks when these babies could come! That's not even including the preemie possibility!
I hear you though! We're not due til the 18th and everyone around is really starting to get in emergency preparedness mode!

I'm sorry! There is something psychological about being due at the end of the month. With my first I was due the 20th and didn't have her until the 30th! Almost all of the other ladies were snuggling their babies and it was difficult. So I know how you feel and I'm due on the 3rd and still feel like its ages away!! I'm just trying not to get into that desparate "gotta get this baby out" mode and just accept that this one might be late too. Ugh. He/she will come in his/her own time...right...RIGHT?!

Happily married to my sweet DH with two precious girls (12/08) and (8/10) and a crazy puppy dog. Expecting blessing #3 around 12/10.

Yep. I feel this way too! I am due the 22nd but I KNOW this baby will be here at least 2 weeks early. Its still hard though. I see these babies being born and I am all excited for the Mama's but then I close out of MDC and have a tiny breakdown because I want MY baby

I'm not due until the 26th. It wouldn't surprise me to have a September baby..so all along I've sort of told myself that, so that I wouldn't feel anxious.

I've had a 34 weeker, all the way to a 41+ weeker..so we'll see. I'm 35 weeks today.

I'm not in any real hurry, as I have a 13.5 month old sitting next to me right now. He's my baby, and keeps me full of snuggles. I have the usual 3rd trimester complaints, but I really try not to focus on them, and enjoy this pregnancy, as it's a miracle.

The only thing that makes it difficult, is that I've been larger with this baby for a few weeks, than I was at full term with my others. I've had less weight gain, but it's all baby...so, I normally get really big and all the comments have been rolling in for a couple of months now.

I actually had someone with a really idiotic comment last Friday. I went to pick up my kids at VBS, and a gal virtually SCREAMED through the large crowded room, "You're still hauling that kid around!" I stopped in my tracks, made sure she was speaking to me (in shock) and looked at her like she had to be kidding. Then I said, "Well, since my due date isn't until the end of August, and we weren't trying for a preemie, it makes sense I would be".

To me, that's the only thing that makes me feel "anxious"...the perceptions of others that you aren't "doing it right".

Yup, I'm feeling this way too. I'm due Aug. 26th. Neither of my other kids were early (40w6d & 40w1d). So even though I'd like this baby to come sooner, I doubt it'll happen. What is going to make it even harder is a friend of mine IRL is due a couple days before me, but her kids usually show up 10days before her EDD. So she is going to be cuddling her newborn and I'll still be pregnant and jealous! I want to hold my baby.

And all the 'you're due any minute now right' comments do not help. Yes I'm huge (my babies stick straight out). No I'm not due for another month. I'm not going to make it? Well, I 'made it' the last two times, so I probably will this time too. Coming from people who knew me through my last two pregnancies, they should know i get HUGE. Oh well, I guess if I'd sort of forgotten how huge I get they can too.

I'm an end of the monther (end of July), so that's why I'm a member of two DDCs. It's been a long June and July watching so many mamas in the July DDC have their babies, but I figured I'd lead the way here. Um, not so!!! Thanks MJB, LZP (where the heck is she?), Taylah, MommaKitten. Somegirl and all the rest! You were due after me!!! Just kidding, but still, the being left behind... yeah, I get that.

My first daughter was an end of October (became beginning of Nov) baby, so I had it then, too.

I'm due the 1st (the 1st!!!) and I feel like everyone around me due in August is having or had their babies already. I'm on another birth board where it seems like everyone is getting C's or being induced. I dunno... I guess I'd rather just wait for baby to come when s/he's ready...

Yup, I hear this. I'm due on the 31st according to LMP (this is now the date we're kind of going by since I'm appearing so 'ripe') and the 7th of August if you go by my assumed due date. We've had 2 mamas have their babies who were due on the 8th, and I think one other mama due after that have her baby. I've been feeling like this baby is going to pop out at any minute from about week 30. I've been doing the 'keep him in' mantras and now all of a sudden when I'm ready for him to come I feel like it's dragging on. I feel for those of you at the end of the month, but take comfort knowing that even some of us at the front of the train are feeling things dragging on in these last weeks. It's a tough time, wanting so badly to be done with the pregnancy scene and have a baby in your arms already. But SOON we will ALL have our sweet babies!!!!

I'm not in this boat, since I am "due" on the 8th, but if I were due the end of the month, then I would totally be hanging out in the September DDC as well so I could feel like one of the early ones. But that's just me

I'm due mid-month, but I totally get it. My babies were born at 42w2d and 40w5d and it is so hard to watch everybody else give birth.

With my first, I was due Feb 22nd and I was the very last person on my due date board to give birth by an entire week. They were all stressing out on my behalf and it didn't help. He finally came Mar 8th. I'd been lurking on the March board because I always felt like the baby might not come until then but I felt funny posting with them when I had a whole week of February between. After my baby came, I posted on their board and I'm still posting with them 6 years later.

My second was due Mar 7th and came on Mar 12th. That was so much easier mentally.

I can't belive what come out of people's mouths to pregnant women! I was just about to start teaching a class on SUnday, and one of my students walks in late. SHe says out loud in front of the class, "Oh man, you're HUGE! You look like you're having twins! I can't believe your still pregnant!" I'm not due until the 27th, and both of mine were early, 4 weeks and 5 weeks. BELIEVE me, you dont' want to push out a preemie. Having your baby taken from you into the nicu before you get to cuddle or try to nurse is really hard. THe last few weeks the body goes into bh cntx to get the lungs working on the babe. If you miss this last few week window like I did, the babe gets to hang out in the nicu instead of with you. SO know that these last few weeks are really inportant!

Bendmom,

You know, I guess in our culture, it's just abnormal to "go all the way" with pregnancy. ( I understand, as 4 of my pregnancies were totally medicalized, and the last one slightly in L&D) With OB's fishing for illness/complications, and more babies being forced out via induction/c-section than allowing them to come on their own, pregnancy must seem REALLY long to people or something.

I totally agree with you about preemies. People ought to be a little less idiotic when they make comments about babies coming out on that person's perceived schedule! I had a 34 weeker who stayed in the NICU for 3 weeks while I went home and sobbed over an empty basinette. I was happy (ready, but happy) to hold onto my last child a record breaking 41 weeks. All my others had been forced out well before due dates through medical pressure/tampering or c-section. I was SO rewarded to let him grow longer than what everyone seems to think is "normal". I'll be fine with that this time, too!

It's funny that all the onlookers/commenters seem to be more anxious, miserable and overdue than I will am or will be!

None of this isn't to say we aren't anxious or uncomfortable or ready to see our little one..just that hey, it's not WEIRD to be big..to be pregnant...and to be waiting instead of scheduling inductions.

Yeah, I'm not due until August 25th so I'm at the back of the bus anyway, but it doesn't help that everyone is scheduling their inductions and c/s well before 40 weeks. Though I have my share of 3rd tri complaints, I'm happy to wait until my baby is ready to be born. I'm really not in a hurry. I know it will come before I know it and I still have a long to do list!

Girl, I feel ya! I'm "due" on the 5th, and since this is my first baby, and since first babies are on average born at 41 weeks 1 day, I'm not really counting on meeting baby until my own birthday, around the 14th. But all these women on my other birth board--a PCOS support-group board--have had these highly-managed pregnancies, seriously getting like 15 U/S, constant tests, etc, and now, even though I'm one of the first ones "due" in that group, they're all already having C-sections and inductions--and LOVING it! One woman is only 33 weeks and just lost her plug and is all like, "Hooray!" Hooray? Lady, it's too early for that baby to be born! My "due date buddy" from that board already has her C-section scheduled for next Wednesday, so she'll have her baby long before me I'm sure, while several other women have gotten guarantees from their OBs to not let them exceed 39 weeks before induction! W-w-what?? It's like they're so anxious to get their babies out, but they haven't done any research.

So even though I'm due at the beginning of the month, I too feel "left behind." I saw one of you guys liken it to watching older siblings go off to school....for me it feels like I'm 12 again and all my girlfriends are getting their periods and I'm still having a "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret" moment!

I'm feeling like I'm "bringing up the rear" so to speak.

I'm pretty miserable but happy that this pregnancy is complication free and that this kid seems content to stay in as long as it takes. I've always felt a bit sad about my induction (unnecessary) with my son. Sounds silly but I've always wondered what day he WOULD have been born on if we'd just let things be and let him come in his own time.

Everyone around me seems more impatient than I am though. I'm already getting TONS of questions about "when we'll induce" (Uh, we won't. ) and when our midwife says we'll go into labor....I'm fairly sure everyone thinks she has magical fortune telling skills since they seem confused when I say that NO ONE knows when this baby will decide to come.

I'm feeling it too, and actually enjoying it

With DS, I was due April 7 and figured I'd go to at least 42 weeks so went and took up the call of managing the birth announcement thread in that *very* active DDC (we were close to 200 members!). I wound up having him March 29 instead and tackling that darned thread for so many members with a newborn was TOUGH. It was also hard when I had those random 4am questions and there weren't many other PP mamas going through the exact same things yet (or that could remember through the newborn fog) to help with advice or encouragement.

So yeah, I'm a freak due August 23 and am plenty happy to be due so late in the month and wouldn't even mind going into September

Ugh, and people's dumb comments. I'm measuring 5 weeks small (and look it) and even the people that know I'm due at the END of August have still been eyeing up my belly and asking "any day now, right?" since the beginning of THIS month. WTF people? I don't want a micro preemie!

Whew! I thought I was the only one who was feeling "behind". Since I'm planning a VBA3C, I have no reference point for when I'll go into labor, so I'm trying to prepare myself for going later, but I'm so excited to "get" to go into labor etc, that it's hard not to be impatient.

People irritate me with their stupid comments. period.

I learned a trick for this with my last pregnancy at about this point (I am due 8/14) I tell people "it could be today or it could be 5 weeks from today, we just have to wait and see." After getting an answer like that a couple of times people stop asking
