I have been taking RRL tea 3 x a day; and Evening Primrose Oil 1 capsule 3X a day; and 3 capsules applied vaginally at night since 35 weeks.

I contracted for 6 hours last night, every 3-6 minutes. When my DH checked my cervix he said it was much lower and he could fit 2 fingers in. He said when we started the EPO he couldn't even reach my cervix, and that 3 days ago, he just felt a dimple. Hopefully, this means I'm dilating & effacing. I'm 36 weeks today, but I need to deliver before my due date so my DH isn't gone. I don't want to do anything to force labor until 37 weeks, but I'm willing to try anything that will help my body prepare as much as possible for go time!

Anything else help anyone?
Does anyone have any good stories about RLL tea and EPO to share?

my only advice is that if your body isn't ready to labor, it won't.

I've never gone into labor from RRL & EPO, have 3 40w0d babies and 2 that came after 40 weeks. One of the was exceptionally easy. I hope i have that experience this time.

i've tried most things (castor oil and cohoshes are outside my comfort level) and none of it "worked" to put me into labor. No idea if it helped anything along, really. Haven't been getting any exams this time around so I don't know if the EPO/RRL tea are doing anything either.

I understand! I'd love to "schedule" my delivery. We are in the middle of a move and the sooner baby comes out, the better for me. I'm RRL tea-ing and taking oral EPO, but I don't have any illusions that it's going to "do anything" necessarily. Can't HURT so that's what I'm doing.

Why is your DH leaving? Is he military?

My hubby and I did the EPO vaginally every night from 35 weeks on with DS1.. it definitely softened me up! My water broke with ds1 at 36w5d.. so just be careful not to over-do it!

I've been doing EPO since 36 weeks. 3,000mg orally and 1,000mg vaginally each day.

36 weeks - Cervix was tightly closed, thick, high and posterior
37 weeks - 1cm, 50% effaced, high and posterior
38 weeks - 1cm, 70% effaced, high and posterior

So - I believe it may be helping to thin my cervix.
