I went into acupuncture (my 2nd session in my 41st week) with contractions that had just recently organized...they had been going all day today, very randomly, but before the appointment got down to an hour's worth at 10 minutes apart.

We chatted, I relaxed, Carol put in the needles, and I rested for a half hour. I timed the contractions...right away then went down to 7 minutes apart. I napped between them.

When Carol came back and took out the needles, I sat up and had a huge contraction. I stood up to lean and breathe through it, and my water broke right there at the edge of the bed.

So now I'm home, gonna eat something for dinner, and contractions are back to about 10 minutes apart. Baby's moving, contractions feel productive, fluid is clear, and there was even a little vernix (!) the last time I checked. Dh is away at ds1's horseback riding therapy, but when he gets home we'll make a plan for the night. I'll probably head into the hospital when contractions are four or five minutes apart.

Yay!

Go RedOak!!

I totally agree about acu! I was at 7-10min apart when I went in. Immediately upon all of the needles being inserted, I went to 3 min apart and stayed there for the duration.

So exciting!
Your story made me laugh because when I went for the electroacupunture the sweet man asked me to wait a second and then returned to the room to line the table with numerous towels. He was worried that something may happen right away. I thought it was funny but your story shows that he could have been bang on.
It did bring on contractions for me too though.

Oh man, I had a treatment on Tuesday with no progress, but with my last pg it seemed to work overnight. I thought about a second treatment, but don't really want to spend the money. Bummer.
Congrats ROM! Come on baby!

Yay! I have two appointments scheduled for next week. I did three with my first daughter, but still ended up having an induction. But I think it really helped prepare my cervix; labor was 12 hours total and I only pushed for 14 minutes. Not bad for a first time mom on Pitocin with no pain meds!

Hoping this time that I have your luck!
