Hello fellow co-sleeping September due daters!
Has anyone who has/ is planning to sidecar a crib to their bed run into the problem of having a crack between the crib mattress and the bed mattress?
We have added the thick foam between the outside of the crib mattress and frame, and honestly, I think it's about as tight as it will get. But we have a pillow top mattress and a latex crib mattress and both are pretty squishy, which leaves the "roll into the crack" possibility that neither myself or my husband are comfortable with.
I have heard about some kind of foam "bridge" that you can purchase at bed bath and beyond to fill in the gap between two twins when you put them together to make a king... but could we customize the size of the bridge? Obviously, it wouldn't need to be as long, as the crib doesn't span the entire length of our bed.
Also, if we did do the bridge, how on earth would the sheet situation work? I am already considering sewing together the crib sheet and the bed sheet to fix the falling into the crack problem... but I'm worried about the integrity of the seam with someone sleeping on top of it. I guess the bridge would help that...
What are your thoughts? What have you done?
