So, I feel bad even posting because yesterday I was one of the uber-impatient post-date mamas that was finding it painful to come here and see all the babies getting born. But what the heck, I gotta share!
Our as yet nameless little girl (still can't believe she's a girl!
) was born at home, in the water at 3:33am at 40+5 after 3.5 hrs of labour. Start to finish. Can't believe how well it went. So beautiful. And painful! But really amazing. I caught her. She nursed great. The midwives helped me to breathe through it, else I was gonna just shove her out like a freight train, but managed with an intact perineum, just a little tear of the scar tissue from my previous birth. One stitch.
Can't believe she was born like, just over 6 hours ago! I slept a bit but woke up wide awake. I'll go back to bed after this.
She was 7lbs 8oz and almost 21 inches. Funny cuz her brother was 7lbs9oz and 20.75... almost exactly the same!
Mama's in waiting- fwiw I had no signs of impending labor really. Less bh ctx than usual the past week. 1cm dilated for awhile, and she checked me yesterday. Some sorta regular bh last night, then just after midnight ctrx that started to hurt. 3:25 water broke and 3:33 she's born. It can happen!
Ok, I gotta go sleep more!
