I'm still here at 40+4 weeks.

Plan is to be induced on Thursday but I'm hoping to go naturally before then. We've got a big girl here, just like her sisters and it's making my doctor nervous.

I am 40+2 and now even the prodromal labor has settled down. I am VBAC but they are giving me until 42 weeks and I will push for more if all is healthy and ok at that point. I have tried ALL of the tricks, nothing ever seems to happen. Now I am just tired and bored.

40 weeks today.

I've been having "episodes" of contractions and passing mucus plug since Saturday, but no pattern.

Tomorrow I see my OB for my weekly visit and NST (I'm high risk due to a previous placental abruption). He'll check me for dilation; he hasn't checked yet. I'd like to think that all this contracting is doing something.

He said he's leave me along until 41 weeks. We'll see...

Happy Mom of Maeve (6). Always missing my DD2 Daisy (22 weeks--June 2008). After an ectopic at 6 wks (11/08) and a miscarriage at 5 wks (12/09), Rainbow Baby Finn is here (10/3/10)

40 +1 here. I'm getting some fairly serious action tonight after having membranes stripped today. I have gestational diabetes and they won't let me go past 41 so I'm hoping this works! I was 3 cm and 75% effaced this afternoon. Ctx are def here - feeling them in my back now. I'm going to start timing after taking a nice walk through the neighborhood.

40+1. Sigh. NO signs or symptoms, of any kind. Walked about 4 miles today, going to walk some more later. What sucks for me is that I don't have any options as far as "natural induction" besides sex and walking...can't get castor oil here, herbs, any of it. As a matter of fact, I can't even get my membranes stripped, because my doc (home birth OB) is so Zen about birth that he told me no more scheduled visits, he'll see me when I'm in labor. This is all new to me, I've never had a doctor be so relaxed before...I've always had SOMEONE down there poking around, lol....which I'm sure is why I've never gotten within 7 days of my due date before going into labor. So as far as I'm concerned, I'm already a week late, lol...I know, not very logical...but you know what I mean.

Oh, and my doc also told me that he's comfortable letting me go to the middle of October before we start talking hospital and induction. Not really sure how I feel about that, lol. I know I won't go that long, so I guess it doesn't matter.

40 + 2 ~ feeling ok with it, passing my due date and all, because it's the most likely outcome for pregnancies, the weeks between 37-40 were the most difficult, now it feels like a breeze... do not want an induction or even think about one at this early stage. My body is gearing up even though it feels progress is slow. Lost nearly all my plug on my DD, regular cramping but not strong or "regular" enough at this stage. This time 3 years ago, I was pregnant with my DD and had no signs what so ever, it wasn't until 40+6 that I woke with cramps and gave birth 12 hours later..... so all is good.... she will come out in her good time! 1.5-2 weeks more sounds easy compared to waiting the last 9 months lmao!

Had contrax all evening just to have them fade off when I laid down to rest. I lost done more chunks of mucus plug but no bloody show yet. I don't think I usually have any show until my water breaks.

Off to grocery shop and walk this morning, hoping to get thing to pick up again. Sometimes I think about the pain to cone and realize that I don't want to do this! Lol too late now, right?

Is that for the person further along in gestation, or simply the last person in the DDC?

I mostly lurk on this board, but I'm still pregnant here at 41+2. No signs of labor, but baby is very low and causing me quite a bit of pelvic pain lately. Hoping that means she'll come out soon! No plug, just CM and a few stronger contractions lately but no where near regular.
Carried #2 to 42+6, so I am not expecting anything until next week.

Um, thank the good Lord in heaven that both my midwife and OB agree that 42 weeks is game over. I think I'd have had a nervous breakdown well being 4 weeks past due.

Well as a VBAC, game over at 42 weeks means a c/s. And I would go a month more to avoid that. I hate the pressure. Esp since this was a bit of a surprise baby and the due date is complete guess work based on the 20 week ultrasound.

Sending you a because that just sucks. Won't they try at least a mechanical induction or low dose pit or something?? Straight to a c/s just stinks. I wish that they would do something to help you get the birth you want

Saw my OB today (40 weeks, 1 day). He checked my cervix (first time ever), and he said I'm a loose 3 centimeters and 70% effaced. Baby's still kind of high (though to me he feels like he's in my crotch!!!).

I don't know if I've progressed from last week since we didn't check, but I've been having regular contrax and bloody show since Saturday so I'm gonna guess that it's all happened recently.

My OB sent me home for another week, wants to see me twice next week, but he's being pretty chill about it all. He gave me "homework," (have sex with DH), which I've been doing, but now we really gotta get it going....

He asked if I had any other signs of impending labor and I said, "I have no patience with anyone and I'm a total grump. Is that a sign of impending labor?"

Him: "It's a sign of being 40 weeks pregnant..."

Ugh, I totally understand, as much as I complain about being overdue (and I'm over 42 weeks), I'm really lucky to have the option to continue this pregnancy without having to jump to the c/s and living in a state where my MW can still legally attend me.

I am lucky to have midwives, but they still have liability issues. So, the gig here is no pit. They can sweep membranes and try "natural" means of induction to 42 weeks. After that, i guess the clock rules. Was up half the night last night with ctx and sort of feeling it again now. I am hoping not to have to worry about the 42+ week issue.

Maybe I'll justgo squat in the woods and birth in peace.

Yeah, it's so frusterating (for the midwives too, I'm sure) to have to deal with all the beauracratic nonsense I've got my fingers crossed that it's soon for you so you don't have to "push the envelope" and worry about it.

As for moi, as you can see, I'm still here. 42+4 and feeling very down about it today. I'm ready to meet my baby and find out what he/she is, what he/she looks like and make sure he/she is ok...oh and I want a break from work lol.

You are still working at 42+4??!! ---- Holy Cow!!

And to make things fun we have a tornado warning, flooding, high winds, and we just lost power to the dock (we live on a boat). Happy for my solar panels at least, they should keep us going at minimum for the remainder of the storm.

*sigh* Sounds like a library day.

Unfortunately, yes I'm not too happy about it either lol. Can't afford to take maternity leave though, so I'll only be off for like a week after baby is born I'm lucky that I will be able to have baby with me at least part of the time though.

Hope the weather doesn't ruin your day today...hey maybe the storm will bring on labor, lol!

Grrrrrr... I was scheduled for induction at 7 am and got bumped by two women who have cervixes that WORK! Now I have another NST at 2 pm and will try for induction tomorrow morning. At my 38 wk ultrasound, baby was estimated at 9lb4oz. That was 3 weeks ago. Howbig might she be now?!
