Great idea, ROM!

Ellie's currently sleeping on her daddy (who's also asleep!) so I have a few minutes to write about my little stinker. love.gif

First, Ellie's 12 weeks old today!  I never thought I'd make it this far....lol.gif  Too bad babies aren't born as 3 month olds--they're so much more fun!

She has all sorts of nicknames (besides just Ellie): we call her Turtlebean, Bean, Beanie, Elsie-Belsie, Ella-beans, Els, and Belly.  We should probably start making sure we call her by her name more so that she'll learn it!

She's smiling up a storm.  She smiles at me and DH all the time, and her smiles range from tiny impish ones to full-face dazzlers.  We have yet to get a good one on camera, though, because she gets very serious the second she sees the camera.  She loves to respond to our faces and our voices, but will even smile at us if we're not focused on her; if she's in arms or next to me in bed I'll sometimes catch her smiling up at me.  It's amazing.

She's rolled over exactly once--at the doctor's office at her 2 month visit.  I think the slant of the examining table helped her, but hey, we'll take it.  (Of course, she rolled right into the wall and bumped her head, which precipitated some crying, so that may also account for her lack of interest in rolling again...ha!)

She can pretty much keep her head completely upright at this point--I think being in the Pikkolo so much has helped with that.  She loves checking out the sights when she's in it--especially when I'm walking the dog at night or we're at the grocery store.

She giggled this morning for the first time...right after she flailed her hand out and accidentally swatted me in the face.  I think the surprised look on my face cracked her up.

She has quite a personality already.  I think she's unfortunately going to take after her mommy and be very, very stubborn...

She loves staring at the various pictures we have on our walls.  We joke she's going to be an art critic when she grows up.  She even has a favorite picture.  From the chair I usually nurse her in she can see a picture that DH took on our honeymoon--it's of a white pelican on a pier at sunrise.  She'll stare at that picture for minutes at a time, just grinning at it, and if she gets really worked up, just bringing her over to look at it sometimes calms her down.

Ok, enough about my little bean.  I should try to go get some sleep in before she wakes up to nurse.  Sorry for the novel!  (I can't help it though--she's just so awesome! love.gif)

Your Ellie sounds a lot like my Ellie...love the nic names!  Ours are mostly Ellie Belly (her middle name is Bell) or Ellie Bird but dd2 (my stubborn one!) to this day only calls her Elliot Bell.  She runs it all together as one name and it's so cute :)

and since I'm here and actually posting

Mae... Princess, Precious, Pumpkinbutt

Just a few days short of 2 months old. Holding her head up REALLY well (but has been holding her head up since birth)

She has bee smiling since birth also and smiling big since a couple weeks after she was born... we are so anxious for the first giggle and think it will be any day now by the way she is acting.

She talks SO much and it is SO cute... all her coos and goos and her hunger cry is "nom.... nooooom..." lol i know thats pure coincidence but its so cute.

I dont know if I have shared this picture yet, but it is DH and then Mae... with similar outfits and positioning with the same monkey... 26 years apart!

My boy is 11 weeks today!  He's strong - he's been putting in some Bumbo time and can sit for about 30 minutes before he gets wobbly.  And then he will sleep for a loooooong time.  His head and torso control is great.

He can flip on his side, but screams bloody murder if he's on his tummy so there's no rolling yet.

We are soooo close to giggles.  The smiles are huge, and I love the way his eyes sparkle when he grins.  He's super chatty, lots of gurgle and babble and coo.  After a chat he gets really cranky though.  It's happy, smile, coo, WAIL!

Best of all (in his view) is that he discovered his hands... or rather, how to get them in his mouth on command.  :D

I have been getting really emotional and sad.  He's so fun right now - the first hard weeks of adjustment are over, and I have a little more time before I go back to work, and these days are treasures and I want to freeze time a little.  He's my last baby.... sniffle.

Elias is 10.5 weeks.  He often gets called lovey here.  I think I started that one and then the older boys kept it up.  He is crazy strong too.  He can sit well in the bumbo, and loves doing it so he can be involved in playing with his brothers.  If he is on his tummy his legs go non stop and he ends up moving himself along the floor a bit.  No rolling though.

He loves watching his brothers sing and dance,  and often wants to be held standing up and dancing too.  He stares so intently and you can tell he is taking everything in.  He is smiling tons,  and now whenever my three year old says "where's your smilers" he breaks into a huge grin.  He has giggled a few times and judging by the look on his face, I think it shocked him.  He is "talking" lots and will carry on these cute little conversations. I'm really loving all of these moments!

Aw, it's so sweet to read about everyone's LOs!

Mae, I also love the 26 year repeat -- so cool!

Our LO is only 8 weeks still, 9 on Thursday. I'm back to work today -- YIKES! Luckily, I'm wearing him right now, since I'm a grad student working on my thesis. Simon is just smiling a bit, and still spends a lot of his awake time crying. But, he loves taking a bath with me. He doesn't much like being with DH, unfortunately, and just cries with him. Can't wait to reach 12 weeks! Also, love that we are doing EC for poop! I never thought I'd do it, but we ended up getting rid of diaper rash that way, and it's awesome!

Porcelina-I'm a grad student too. I'm supposed to be working on my dissertation. We've been dealing with some health issues here so I haven't started yet but good for you! How do you take a bath with your LO? I tried it and he loved it but he was so slippery I kept feeling like I was going to drop him under the water. It made me really nervous.

Cora smiled and laughed really early. She was laughing around 1 month old. She is pretty easy going and sleeps great at night but she does like to be held a lot and lets you know when she is unhappy. She somewhere in the middle of my high needs ds and my mellow as a newborn dd. She seems to enjoy the company of her siblings and has started cooing recently. She starts either smiling really big or laughing when she sees me with the wrap. Physically she is doing ok but she has a touch of toricollis and hates being on her tummy so she isn't the best at holding her head up on her tummy.

Health issues are no fun, and don't make things any easier, that's for sure. I'm really feeling the pressure to finish at the end of this academic year, so I guess I'm pretty motivated to get this last paper done.

For the bath, I fill it up pretty deep, so that I can have him kindof high up but so that he still gets water covering his lower parts. I cradle with one arm and two legs. I have one leg slightly up (like at a 45 degree angle) and bent into the other leg (to form a triangle basically). He is pretty stable just on my legs, but I also cradle around his neck with one arm most of the time. I use a very gentle soap (cetaphil) since he has very sensitive skin, and then just work on one area at a time, rinse, and lather again, so that his whole body is not slippery at the same time. I think our soap is a bit less slippery, too.

Okay, back to work!

Litchick and LovnMyBoys, my kiddo is a strong little guy like yours!! He just turned 3 months and really wants to sit up, roll over, and stand all the time! So funny to watch him strain to work those muscles!! Today (the day after Thanksgiving) Caden was lying on the floor on his play mat, SOOOOO close to rolling over. My whole family was watching and cheering but alas, it didn't happen!

Pics and stories of my kiddo are here :)

Guys, I haven't been on here in sooo long but love seeing all the little ones! Is it me or did this DDC produce some extra cute babies? lol.

My little Mila (by the way, her name is pronouced MEE-lah and NOT MY-lah which is what people keep thinking lol) is 9 weeks old now and is so much fun! She is so incredibly expressive. she has been smiling big smiles since she was two weeks old but she is very generous with them these days. And she has sooo much to say. She cracks me up because she does what I call a "complaining coo" almost like she is telling me off or something when she is upset. She furrows her brow and coos but it's not a happy coo, lol. DH calls her Princess Honeybear and I call her Monkeybear. For short, she's just "bear" lol. She's making sounds that are almost laughs but not quite, I think she's working up to it.

Everyone's babies are SO adorable!!  I just love seeing all these babies E's age.  I'm still baby crazy.  I can't get enough baby right now....still watching the birth stories and reading birth stories...such a miracle!

This is little E last week.  She's such a delightful, happy girl!  She's still wearing her 3 month clothes and she'll be 4 months next week.  I like to think she's taking after me (I'm 5'1" and petite).  My boys are really starting to interact with her....I'm so glad.  We still have some jealousy issues to work through though.
