I have the worst back pains exactly like my period pains. I keep telling myself that it is normal to get period like pains at this point but it doesn't stop me going to the bathroom to check.

Boy oh boy - the paranoia begins.

all totally normal. i'm so used to the cramps being my first symptom that i'd actually be worried *not* to feel them.

ironically, the one miscarriage i had, the initial tale-tell sign was spotting, not cramps.

My very first sign was a single cramp that made me say "uh oh". I crossed my legs all the way to the bathroom... but nothing. And I've been cramping steadily since then although I think it is easing off right now.

The period-like symptoms are caused by increased progesterone, which happens with AF & pregnancy both.

Oh man, I've been obsessing about my back pain all day!! It's comforting to hear that others are, too.

Actually, I had SEVERE back pain (so severe that I actually had to lay on the floor for long periods of time and the only way it was bearable to sit was with heated rice packs strapped to my back) for 3-4 days with my last pregnancy at about 5 weeks and then I miscarried around 8 weeks. The dr thought the baby stopped developing around 5 weeks, right when I was having the back pain. So of course now ANY twinge in my back makes me jumpy and depressed.

But so far my back pain isn't that awful at all. It's just a mild ache. Ugh. Still. I worry.

BUT
I am having a dull ache most of the time and alot of cramps, pulls and twinges, even my sides are hurting and a weird poking feeling on my cervix. I dont remeber having this with my other 4 babies either nor with my loses, but DH seems convinced that this all happened before..lol...except that with my loses I wasnt as bloated...
and bloated..i think i look aboout 3 months pregnant all ready...lol...the muscles in my tummy every day are more and more relaxed.

I too am running to the toliet every 5 mins either to pee or becaue a cramp has left me feeling like i was about to bleed.

oh and *whispers* I peed when I sneezed last night....*blinks*

I have slight crampiness, mostly first thing in the morning when I'm lying in bed just about to get up. It's sort of like AF cramping, sort of not... I can't really describe it very well. But I'm just trying to remind myself that all it really is is a reminder that "something" is going on down there. And that makes me feel a little better... because I really want a whole lot of something to be going on down there over the next 8 months! Lol.

Part hippie-chick, part type-A career woman, all mama. Enjoying life as a wife to my partner of 11 years, and a mama to our smarty-pants toddler, Cadence.
