Last night at midnight, I woke up to go to the bathroom and noticed there was about 1-2 tbs of blood in my underwear (kinda like a period). I started really freaking out when I couldn't feel my baby move. Called the midwife and she told me to go to the nearest hospital right away (which is THE WORST hospital around to have a baby). I started feeling the baby move a bit in the car on my way over so I was relieved.
Anyway, to make a long story short, the nurse "thought" I might be in labor because I was having contractions every 5 min. and she "thought" I was dilated to 1 or 2 cm and effaced 70% but wasn't sure at all (after doing 2 brutal vaginal exams). So I asked when the doctor was coming and she said he wasn't because the baby's HR was fine and he was moving now !?!
So I decided it was best to go home and rest (I'm on bed rest for the next 2 weeks)
I'm feeling better this morning and the contractions have slowed down and no more red blood. I'm worried though. Is this bloody show or could it be something else? The baby is moving fine now...I guess he or she was just sleeping last night.
Next time, I will really try to avoid that hospital unless it's a real emergency.

Oh how scary! Have you seen your midwife since? What does she think?

So glad baby's heartbeat is fine and that he/she is wiggling and giggling again. I hate those quiet times, it's so easy to think the worst. Keep us posted!

Happy mumma to my boys Henny Tom (Nov 30, 2008), Arlo Odie (Oct 5, 2010), and baby SISTER! due mid-Dec 2014.

Yikes! I'm glad it seems that it was nothing serious.

I'm sorry you had to go to the hospital, but that sounds like a good reason to go. Glad everything is better now! Take it easy the next 2 weeks while on bedrest.

I always thought bloody show was mucous mixed with blood. This sounds different. Glad everything is normal now though!
