Baby dropped last week at 35 weeks and has stayed low. Now I'm 36 weeks and just wondering if there is a correlation between dropping and onset of labor? DS did not drop and when he did, he would bounce right back up so this is new for me. I like being able to eat more! However, the trade off of pressure and a teeny tiny bladder are not as exciting.

Well for me, baby's head has apparently been low since 32 weeks. At my 34 week appointment, I was told baby was very low and I can definitely feel her.

My 34 week appointment was with my third back up midwife and the only time I've met with her so far. She seemed a little alarmed but when I questioned her, she said it it wasn't necessarily significant but I "could" go early.

I did an internet search and it seems that there are plenty of women who walk around with their babies very low for weeks before labour.

This is my first, btw, so none of this could be relevant to you! I'm 35w3d today.

I'm 33 weeks, also with my second, and the baby dropped really low about two weeks ago. I've been waddling around like I'm about to have the baby any second and it's pretty uncomfortable--the pressure on my cervix and bladder and lower spine have been awful. And people always look terribly shocked when they ask when I'm due and I tell them late October.

My 3rd was so low that the midwife had to reach around baby's head to check my cervix! I drop with all of mine but I walk around like that for weeks. So it's not a determination of anything for me other than I have about another month left. :/

Both. From this point onward, always patient and always ready.

Oh, don't we wish we could have control over these things...

mmhm. Be ready and be patient.

And if you're overdue, and impatient, PM me and I'll tell you what my midwife told me... and it works.

Great responses ladies!!! Thanks so much. I can be patient for awhile longer and we're not quite ready so guess that equals good things.
I've already cleared with the mw and ob to take castor oil on my due date. I have no intention of going over since I want my vbac!

I totally want to hear the secret knowledge!!
