.. and everything is perfect!

Turns out I've got a big baby in there (didn't need them to tell me that!) and his head is large & hard to scan. But they took their time and checked it very closely, and he's perfectly healthy.

So I was 34 weeks yesterday and they estimated his weight at 7pds. 2 weeks ago it was estimated at 6lb 7oz. I am also trying not to be freaked out by the u/s tech who does this all day long going on and on about what a big boy and big head he's got. Hypnobabies bubble of peace, here I come!! I know how off those u/s readings can be, but dh and I are not small people (he's 6'4" and I'm 5'10") so I'm pretty sure we are not having a small baby either.

Anyway I'm just THRILLED that Gavin is ok, looks great and healthy and I can finally fully relax. I know I probably needed that 32 week growth u/s done because of my surgery, but this is a nice reminder of how u/s can cause more worry and stress than necessary sometimes. But oh well - I've got a healthy little boy in there and that's all that matters.

Thanks for your support everyone!!

Great news

And really, given your height and your DH's height, I'd be worried if the u/s found a small baby!

Seriously, I've always been amused that I (at 5'9") am told to gain the same amount of weight as someone who is almost a foot shorter than me. So I don't pay attention to that stuff and just try to eat healthy and nutritious food and stay away from the sugar.

Loving DH geek.gif, raising DS1 learning.gif(01/08) and DS2 bfinfant.gif(10/10), caring for cat.gif x 3 .

Congrats! That's such a relief!

I know lots of women who have birthed big babies pretty easily, even with big heads. Positioning makes much more difference than size. You'll do great!

Yay!! What a relief!! And "they" say that your body generally knows how to produce the size of baby that it can birth, and I think that is true. "They" also say that fat squishes and length doesn't matter when birthing, so all you have to worry about is that head, lol! And honestly, the head squishes too, so it'll be fine!

Mom to sweet DD 8/08, and adorable DS 10/20/10
