water broke at 1 a.m. So I guess it is gonna be sooner rather than later. This is pretty exciting though. I feel like a doof. I have like everything. Feeling good. Feeling prepared.

No diapers. Ugh. I thought I had at least a few somewhere. Nope can't find not a one in all this baby stuff. My friend is going to bring me some so it will be fine. But it still makes me feel kinda silly. Glad I noticed now.

I can't wait to hear baby news!! ELV's mama's

We have final scan of baby boy's lung today. I have a feeling that it is gpoing to be just great news and there will hardly be any tumour to see, for all the normal lung tissue that has developed. Will update when we get back

Oh my goodness, good luck to our two (or more?) mamas who are in labor now! Can't wait to see the updates! It's totally freaking me out that are babies are starting to arrive!

Congrats, Mauri, on making it so far already with your twins! Hope things keep going great, and you don't have to do an induction.

Things are good here--36w4d, and I can't believe my EDD is less than 4 weeks away. Not ready yet. The to-do list is long and scary. But baby has been cooperating and staying head down for almost two weeks now (knock on wood), so that's good. And I just had a chiro appt for the Webster technique yesterday, and plan to go back again a couple more times before birth, probably. I don't feel any different, but she said I was slightly out of alignment, so hopefully this will help with birth position? I'm also planning now to take a 2 day trip out of town (5 hour drive) for work next week. I can't decide if that's crazy or not, and I don't want to ask my OB, because I know she'd say not to go. But my DD was a week late, so I really don't feel like I'll go 3 weeks early this time. I was planning to decline the internal at my OB appt this week, but I'm thinking now I'll get it, just in case she says something like, "OMG, you're already 5cm and this baby could fall out any minute." lol. I think I'd reconsider my travel plans in that case.

Oh, and is anyone else having trouble sleeping? Half the time, I'm super exhausted, but if I miss that tired period (which, inconveniently, usually starts right around dinner time), then I could be up until 1 or 2 am, not tired, and when I do fall asleep, it's very light. Every little thing wakes me up, or else I'm half-awake all night--I can't tell which. Between my bladder, and my toddler waking up in the night, and random noises outside, I am generally getting like 4-5 low quality hours of sleep a night.

Mom to sweet DD 8/08, and adorable DS 10/20/10

I get you on the tiredness! I can't seem to keep my eyes open today. DD2 is finally asleep on the couch right now. DD11mo. is upstairs bouncing in her crib NOT going to sleep even though she was just fussing down here a minute ago rubbing her eyes. Lol. I could so use a nap. Kids get out of school in an hour and I'm letting them walk home today since I'm so tired. Baby is still moving around so I know he's alright. Getting some really strong BH's today. Not hurting, but can't move either. I still have weeks left to go. I just started my Hypnobabies and would really like to complete it before baby comes!

hyz, I've been having a lot of trouble with sleep. Probably explains why I'm so exhausted. Last night was awful, dh had painted the bedroom and wanted to let it sit overnight, so I tried sleeping on the couch, but that last like 2 hours. Then he filled up the air mattress and put it on the living room floor for me, but I couldn't get comfy there, either. Finally I wound up kicking dd1 out of her bed and having her sleep on the air mattress! I still didn't sleep well, blah.

I've been exactly the same way. I feel like I just never fall into that deep sleep that I used to and that I'm constantly aware of the room around me all night. I've been trying to make up for it with naps, but blah.

This is exactly how I'm "sleeping" too. And it's the same kind of sleep I get when I have a newborn in my bed or room. So it's adequate, but not deep sleep.

I saw my OB today (FINALLY!!), GBS from last week was negative, she went over my birth plan and said it was all fine, so she signed it and they'll have a paper copy and electronic copy in my file. I really hope I get her for the delivery, but at least this way if I end up with whoever is on call I won't have to argue about stuff. One of the first things she mentioned was the new ACOG guidelines on vba2c and what great news it was. She said something like "of course you've already done this (she delivered my vba2c) but it makes it a lot easier on our end." I asked her about vbac and pitocin augmentation since my last labor I had days of regular prodromal labor, I was concerned about calling my mom out of work and having labor stop (my mom can only get like a day and a half off to watch my kids, so if i call her out of work I really need to have the baby!) Anyway, she basically said the more they mess with me the greater risk of another c/s or rupture, but if my cervix is nice and ripe and I've dilated at least a few centimeters, we can consider a little augmentation if I want. I really hope if I do have prodromal labor again it's on the weekend like last time so I don't have to worry about, though! But it's really nice to have a hands off ob who's not intervention happy or terrified of vbacs!

So anyway, 37w4d, I go back next Thursday! She'll do a cervical check next visit and I hope I'm dilated enough for a stretch and sweep. I don't expect it to put me into labor at all, but I'm hoping to get a nice hormonal release and help ripen my cervix up. Honestly I'm not really looking forward to another 41 week+ pregnancy, so I'd like to encourage my cervix to soften up. Trying to remember to take some EPO every day, too.

I think my body might finally be starting to recognize the fact that it has to get this baby out at some point! I usually have BH overnight, but last night/this morning was the first time ever that they were painful and woke me up. Then when I got up, it definitely felt like the baby had dropped and like my crotch is going to split open from the pressure. And then I had a couple of loose BMs. Whew. Still no signs of any mucous plug though. It's probably nothing for now, but it's a little exciting! I had zero signs of anything up to this point. Still holding out hope for an October baby though - I'm only 37w 3d today. Bebe probably needs to cook a little longer.

I'm still a couple days shy of 36 wks, but I was expecting a few more signs that my body is planning an exit strategy for this baby.

In my first pregnancy, I started having (very) mild menstrual-type cramping, something like five or six weeks before I actually went into labour. Also had way more BH by this point last time and ds was 9 days late!! The lack of any sign (other than general hugeness) is making me think this baby isn't coming anytime soon and that I should get ready to have a NOVEMBER baby.

Probably irrational, but that's how Im feeling. On the other hand, I have newborn clothes in the washing machine right now and was reviewing my homebirth supply list this morning. Maybe my subconscious knows otherwise?

I did have something cool happen this week at my prenatal yoga class. We were doing goddess kali pose/breathing, repeatedly, faster and faster and I suddenly felt the baby drop tangibly into my pelvis. Breathing got so much easier and the pressure on my cervix and bladder was intense. Of course, she has bobbed back up again, but it was a very cool feeling. Maybe more of the same closer to my due date will do the trick?

I turned 35 weeks yesterday. Now I'm not having constant BH's. Had them for 3 weeks. Hubby comes home and now they die down. Maybe I was more stressed doing everything by myself than I realized. In 4 days is when I gave birth to DD#2. She was born at 35 wks. 5 days. So technically, I could go anytime after that . But I highly doubt that this baby is coming that early. Plus, I'm only in wk 2 of my hypnobabies home course. Not that baby will determine his birthing date according to my schedule! LOL. I still have to get a couple of room ready here in our home. The place is getting trashed by the kids during the days. So this weekend is major nesting!! I HAVE to get this house straightened after rearranging and rearranging today too. I'm not ready yet.

Everything in our house is bothering me - I'm nesting big time. Like having to restrain myself from pulling everything out of ds's closet and organizing the toys in there, etc. None of it is that bad - in fact I did major nesting/deep cleaning last weekend and it's all in pretty good shape. But then I'll see some dirt in the corner of a baseboard and not be able to chill until it's clean.

I am very crampy today. I was a little crampy yesterday with some bloody mucus after I let my OB check me, which I expected. But today I'm having strong menstrual type cramps. Dh asked me if I wanted to go lay down and I told him no way, I'm cleaning house and staying on my feet hoping they turn into more, or at least do some work on my cervix.

Yesterday I was 1cm dilated with a soft cervix. Did the hypnobabies birth rehersal with my doula and feel great about everything. She's also very excited about my birth as it's one of her first hypnobabies births and she feels the program is working very well for me. I am hopeful - I used my techniques yesterday during the cervical check which are usually very uncomfortable for me, and didn't feel a thing.

So I'm gonna hop back up, keep nesting and hope these cramps turn into more.

i seem to be in a similar place as mistymama. my body's definitely gearing up. (39 weeks tomorrow) bloody show today when i checked my very soft and stretchy (and now low) cervix and baby's head is very well applied and engaged. tons of head-grinding pressure yesterday and today and cramp-like bh ctx's that were strong enough to wake me throughout the night last night. baby's in a perfect LOA to OA position, so she's aimed and ready!

whoo boy!

Okay ladies... Well I did it... I tried accupuncture this morning hoping it gets things moving... It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought (this was my first time trying accupuncture)... I just hope it works! I have 1 week before my scheduled induction... come on labor!

Good luck, virgo! And lotusma, since I saw your water broke

Kallyn that fortune cookie is hilarious!

38w1d and trying to resign myself to the fact that I'll be pregnant forever I'm so jealous of all these babies coming at 37-39 weeks! My mom and I took the girls to Fair Oaks dairy farm yesterday, so I spent like 5 hours walking around. Had an hours worth of contractions in the evening. I hate feeling so impatient and whiny when I'm not even to my due date yet! Blah!

Today is a strange day for me. I feel "off". Disconnected from the day itself. Is that weird or what? Not sure what to make of it. I'm not tired but feel like I need to lay down. Which I don't want to do because I'm not tired.

I'm not sure if it was the acupuncture on Saturday or if she's just ready to make an entrance soon but I literally felt baby move down yesterday afternoon and then I started having ?contractions? that feel more like a wrap around cramping sensation that would slowly intensify and then subside than the menstral type cramping I was having last week. I felt them most of the night but I was so sleepy that I kept falling asleep trying to figure out how many minutes apart. They seemed pretty close together 3-10 minutes but weren't very painful so I figured it wasn't time to make a call yet and kept dozing off. I have a second acupuncture session this morning and I have a checkup this afternoon so I guess I'll have DH put my suitcase in the car just in case I end up getting admitted.

So is it normal to "feel" baby move down a station or am I imagining things? All I know is that I've had to go to the bathroom every hour since I felt that dropping feeling.

I really HATE going to my OB appt's!! So much fear mongering. Especially now towards the end. My OB asked me as soon as she walked in the room if I was having a vaginal delivery or a c-section? This is my 5th baby and I've had all vaginal deliveries!! Why wouldn't I have a vaginal?!?! She then tells me that at our next appt we'll be doing the GBS swab. I told her I'm declining that and told her why. She then starts her speil about how they're up on the current research and its proven its better to get it and go through the antibiotics if positive, ect, ect... And my baby could die... She just wouldn't accept my answer. I am so over this hospital!! (We're military and it's our military hospital.) It's too late for the birthing center to accept me. I turn 36 weeks Friday, and they won't accept me past that and it takes that long for Tricare to turn me over to them. So I'm stuck with their care.
I'm so done.
