When is the best time to fire my cleaning lady?
Before summer? After summer?

My 10-year-old son will be bummed he can't play with her son over the summer. I'm ready to let her go now (but she will be "devastated") and let both of us move on. But if it's better to let her keep the summer and that will give me time to find a back up, that would be good too.

10 - boy
5.5 - girl

Thank you for a very unique question!

Sorry you have to fire your cleaning lady though...

I have to say that I think sooner rather than later is better. I think you will end up irked all summer long if she stays and then it might end in an unfortunate incidence with you losing your cool. I think you can end on as nice of a note as it gets right now.

It won't take you long to find someone else and you can't continue to look out for your current cleaning lady like you have. That hasn't worked out for you.
