Hi there, i have posted some time ago, but I am super bad at it, as I have a million hobbies and Im always on the go. (no excuse) But I love love love reading your posts sooo helpful.

I am 29 weeks have GD I had a c/s with my DD in 2008 at 36.5weeks, I was induced , never progressed and ended in an C.

This time I told m doc I want to really try and push. He was gun ho in the beginning, but as with my last I am measuring 5 weeks ahead and he says i am not looking good as a vbac candidate. but he supports me still to try.

I will hire the nurse/Douala int he office too.
My ? is what can I do now/ or take to help increase my success in a vbac, and going in to labor on my own.

I just got a prenatal yoga dvd, and I was thinking of getting some tea's & herbs, just not sure which to buy and where.

Also when do we start Perineal Massage?

Thanks for your support
all my love
Maryann

Welcome! We don't bite, join in.

I never did perineal massage. So I can't help you there. Never really tore, either. I don't think it will hurt anything, though.

Do you have to pick a doula from the practice? I would think one from outside the office would be more unbiased and more on your side. That would definitely help. And make sure that your partner or yourself is good at sticking up for yourself and advocating. Remember, this is *your* birth, not theirs.

I would also drink RRL tea-for now the Traditional Medicinals Pregnancy Tea will do if you can not find bulk herbs. I would make sure you get enough exercise-long walks, yoga, etc. to keep up your stamina.

Evening primrose oil taken the last month will help your cervix soften and dilate. Lots of sex, as well.

It's unsurprising that you didn't make much progress at 36.5 weeks. Why so early? Are they planning on it this time again? I would not suggest the cohoshes or castor oil for VBAC, especially before 40 weeks, so it might be a good idea to read up in the book Pushed or go to the VBAC forum on here and ask about safer induction alternatives if you do face it.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to go buy some tea tomorrow , i called the health food store and they said they will help me pick some out.
i didn't even realize there was a vbac board, I am going to go over and check it out now.

I think they induced me so early cause my daughter was going at a rapid rate, in combination with the Diabetes.

He agreed that I want to go as long as I can before inducing. I want a fully cooked baby. Not that i don't want to meet my son asap, I just want him to come out when he is ready and not before.

Thanks again for your advice. I am going to check it all out.

Also check out the ICAN website. I've never had a c-section, but have heard great things about the ICAN resources from those who have.

Make sure whoever helps you knows you are looking for Red Raspberry Leaf tea (or bulk herb that you can brew at home). There is a "tribe" thread somewhere on the "I'm Pregnant" board that can help you with how much and how to brew. Raspberry flavored tea (like some I have from Stash) won't cut it!
