Some of you know that I have marginal previa. Which I'm saying WILL rectify by my next ultrasound-3 weeks.
Also, my CNM quit the practice which left me in OB care. I'm VBACing and thought I was stuck with the hospital.
My hypnobabies instructor told me that if my previa clears up, she knows a midwife that will come to my home. (In SC it's illegal for midwives to attend HBAC)
Apparently, they've talked about me before. Now, I'm seriously considering it. In fact, I'm 99% sure that's what I want to do if the previa rectifies. Now, to get DP on board...

Hoping it clears, too! Today my acupuncturist asked me what kind of birth I'm having and it was surreal to say aloud "homebirth!" But wonderful surreal I love that I can see her and my new chiro and they think it's awesome.

I am so excited. I think that all this positive energy focusing on planning a HB will also get me out of this funky pregnancy. It seems I had one disappointment after another. From thinking I had to birth in a hospital (not that there is anything wrong with it for those who want one, I just had a traumatic birth with my 2nd), to my CNM leaving me, and then dealing with the silly placenta. I am in a much better place emotionally now than I have been in a while.

Keep sending those stretchy uterus, drifty placenta vibes! 2cm never seemed like such a long distance before!!

A homebirth would be great!

I'm sending all the move placenta vibes there are- mine is marginal right now too. This is one instance where I am upset that my belly doesn't get bigger, maybe then it would move.

I just got my medical records from the OB after talking with my lovely potential midwife for close to an hour! Anyway, I had to disect the records. AND, if I'm reading my U/S report correctly, the distance from my placenta to my cervix is 2.18cm at my 20 week US! I did not think that was considered to be previa at all!!! In fact, previa was HANDWRITTEN on the report. And no distance was listed on the 28 week US at all!

That's crazy. Something similar happened with my #4 baby. They tried saying marginal previa, but another doc looked at my u/s and according to the measurements, it was not. I had 3 u/s after that to check previa and other things and none showed previa, but they kept claiming it as a reason for a c/s they would force me into.

I know, right? So far they have tried to scare me with GD, excessive weight gain-I've gained 20 lb. in 30 weeks, come on!-and now previa.

Also, it said in my records that they counseled and enrolled me in some Young Parents program. Uh, I'm 32! And I've never even heard of this program before reading it today.

EarthyMama, SO glad you got your records and can see what's really going on! Yay for a wonderful MW, too!

It makes me crazy to think OBs can distort records and patient's understanding like that. Ugh. I'm glad you'll be able to get away from them!

Oh wow. If it weren't so sad and scary it'd be hilarious how they distort everything.
